Topic: Puppies / Shoe Fettish I agree with lnkaye, I had to do the same thing with my Dallas, first thing he went after were my Puma's, then he wanted flip-flops. But he definitely learned that those weren't meant to be his toys. You really have to keep an eye on your pup and your shoes to catch him in the act. :) |

Topic: Puppies / adolecent small pup potty problem Just an idea, but you might want to try to only give him very little ammounts of water between feedings. And does he poop every time you take him out after eatting? If not, try to stay out until he has pooped. It's just to let him know he can't go in until he's finished "business". I've noticed that when my pup is lying on the couch then gets off (not to retrieve a toy of his) he generally has to use the bathroom. Maybe you're missing some sort of signal. XOXO :)

Topic: Health, Diet And Vets / Fleas & Ticks I went to the vet a couple weeks ago and was given Frontline but because we live in Florida I was thinking about using K9 Advantix because it takes care of fleas, ticks, and mosquitos. I'd really like to hear some opinions. Thanks for your imput. |

Topic: Advice, Training And Tips / Socializing? UPDATE Dallas is finally getting used to people! We've been taking him on daily walks and he is becoming more confident with other people as well as other dogs... he's getting interested in playing with other (small) dogs and pups. We introduced him to his first baby recently and he did pretty well. Thanks for all the advice!!! You are all great. |

Topic: Advice, Training And Tips / Socializing? Yeah, I've only picked him up once... when I was at the vet and was stuck at the door while he was frozen. Since then I've kept him on his leash and not let him jump on me. But still.... he usually hides behind me or walks around me to wherever he can get away from the person(s) near us. I'm afraid of someone getting to close and having him snap at them. |

Topic: Advice, Training And Tips / Socializing? Thanks. I'm going to put this information to use. Unfortunately I have been too busy to take him too many places. I need to start him on some baby steps. |

Topic: Advice, Training And Tips / Socializing? My puppy, Dallas, is very shy when it comes to new people. I'm introducing him to people whenever I get the chance, but he tries his best to hide behind me if he's on a leash (even on walks). He is also terrified of other dogs. When we go for walks, he freezes when another dog comes our way. The other day one came and started to smell him, once the other dog was being him, he started walking quickly away.
I am trying to socialize him, but any tips available would mean the world to me! Thank you ever so much!!! |

Topic: Breeds Club / Chihuahua Mix? I know it's a shot in the dark, but does anyone happen to have a Chihuahua mix with Pomeranian? I'm kinda wondering what you pup looks/looked like and what s/he looks like now. Mostly because I'm wondering how long my pups hair is going to get, because I don't believe it will get much longer.
THX!!! |

Topic: Puppies / New Puppy Aggressive I have had my new puppy for about a week. He's half chihuahua, half pomeranian, he immediately fell in love with me. But he is fearful of my dad. My dad has never done anything to hurt him. My dad is heartbroken that Dallas has not yet taken to him. He is not yet socialized, so I am working on that (with both humans and dogs). But I am wondering if anyone knows anything that I can do to help him begin being affectionate towards my father. He doesn't growl at him when I'm holding him and dad comes near or when I hand him over to dad to hold for a bit. It's only when he's on the ground and dad goes in to pet or pick him up. |
