Topic: General / Action to stop Chained Dogs across the USA

This atrocious practice is illegal in Britain...I am not saying it does not happen...but when reported we are dealing with it firmly...dogs removed signed over to Welfare,and humans to Court..although I would like to see the punishment fit the crim i.e.   Chain these anal, undeducated, ignorant cruel bullies up just out of reach of water, food  and shelter...go back and check them..oh lets see the rain water will stop them totally dehydrating and dying (pity) so maybe two weeks??..let them stand in their own excrement for awhile, let them scream for help..the same way the dogs bark ..until someone throws something at them to shut them up....yup I feel that would an apt and fitting punishment....ofcourse after this we could try to educate them?...nah if the deed is done they should never be allowed animals again..no excses for this treatment, not through ignorance, not through non education..its is just plain human cruelty.

Look this is a great site, and this 'thread' has spilled over..the trolls were just a bit of fun, humour between friends, we all acknowledge that everyone has different views, and we all acknowledge that we all have the human right to air our views...but on a dog site...where a person has delberatley abused animals to their own end..posting in his defense was a bit thoughtless....and the posts that ensued from that are not suprising. Now we could, as the superior race decide to all end this....as friends....with our own opinions on some matters..kept as that...our opinions.     I think the comment about getting a toy dog as a companion to you Pittbull woud depend as it would with any other owner getting a dog....are both dogs used to being with other dogs?, will your pittie stand the constant yapping that small dogs will do?, will your pittie allow this other toy dog to sit on your knee while he is on the floor?...cos Toy dogs will climb, and will act almost like cats...lap attack!!!..now these are points...not digs at you. I love dogs in general, big small medium, quiet, noisy, obediant, bouncy...all types...but each type has their own limits in what they will accept into their home, you know your dogs temperment, you are aware how your dog is around other animals..so watch....if the dog is constantly aggresive towards an intruder (another dog in their space)...then I would think long and hard before introducing another one.

Right I am not posting on this thread again.....come on the world is a nasty enough place without 'falling out' on an interactive Dog Site.....Pat  xxx.....yes kisses I am a freindly person!! lol

You obivously did not read my post...I said that in the Scottish Highlands....that is thousand upon thousand of acres of mature trees and mountainside that is where we cull the deer...not for sport...to keep the numbers down so they can live healthy lives and their surroundings be enough to support their needs. There is no awards given to those who are trained to cull, no photographs taken...it is straight forward animal control ...authorised and legal and closely monitored by Scottisdh Executive Animal Welfare....for whom I work.  We do not advocate culling for any other reason, we do not endorse hunting of any kind..... (this has been made illegal in this country...).....so you see my friend it is not a case of supporting it, it is a case being realistic, allowing animals to live healthily and eat there fair share..the only other option would be to neuter them..now if you are willing to come to Scotland and catch as Stag...hey!!! we would be delighted to see you..the next step...actually neutering it without an anesthetic..becuase these animals do not do well with anesthesia...well you can do that too!!!...but I am NOT advocating hunting...culling is a completely different kettle of fish

Well if your Dad likes, rain, mist, and all the seasons in one day....he would have an ace time!!!...midgies..which are a bit like mosquitos...but no warning noise!!!...You can always tell someone from Scotland....Sun block,  after sun cream,  thick jumper, waterproof mac, umbrella, beastie bite cream...all in one bag...and all used in one day......oh the joys!!  lol Tessa uK

I suggest you finish college, and get yourself sorted out with job,home all the things that life requires....and then and then only consider saving up money and rescuing a dog. During this time you could volounteer at an animal shelter or rescue or advertise to offer to asist someone inthe care/exercising of their dogs...but all this needs experience in dog understanding, husbandry and care...........and some quality time spent in an animal rescue or charity would give you this...plus the rewards you would feel would be phenomanal...do not rush in for the dog just yet, you are very young and need to get your own life on track before you take a dog into it...they cost a lot of money, insurance, jabs, vet bills, ...which you will have...24 hour care shall I continue???....go look up Animal Welfare and offer your services     Good Luck.  Tess UK

Missing dog found after five years

Rocco, a beagle that strayed from a New York garden five years ago, has been reunited with his owners - after being found 850 miles away in Georgia.

He was dropped off anonymously at an animal sanctuary there earlier this month and a microchip embedded under his skin helped trace him to his owners Jorge and Cristina Villacis.

Their daughter Natalie who was five when Rocco disappeared said: "I cried hysterically - just like I did when they told me he was lost."

Ooooh Steffi...been there..too tiny to fit!! and mums 'create' things !!!, I went about for awhile wearing a scrunchy..(A elasticated cotton tie back for human hair) as a skirt...oh they thought this was cute!!!.now I am a girl and even I thought it was way toooooo much!!!!, now do not laugh, but mum got me a little souester outfit from the toy shop where they did clothing to dress childrens toy dogs!!, at least thirteen years later I can get a fit off of the peg!!!lol  xx take care little pal..Tessa UK
