I haven't seen Lexi or Sam in the battle. I'm online every night so they should have been entered.

I think you should give a trophy to the winner just like in the other things we do.

Topic: Rescues, Shelters And Adoptions / Bella the Bostons contest to help shelter pets...Please help!

This is my first contest ever. But it's always about politics no matter what. And if you want votes, you have to campaign for them. Most of my friends vote without being reminded and others want a daily reminder. If I was rich, this would not be an issue at all. But The next contest I enter MDS will not know about it, that way no one from MDS will be running against us. I belong to other groups and we take turns entering contest for different things and we get votes for that person. And we don't join that contest. Upon recieving my new buddy she needed more vet stuff than the norm. My vet has given me the best prices and the lowest he can go. (he has to make a living also) But the bills are still more than the norm for me. Thanks to several friends from MDS, Lexi has gotten alot of stuff done already. She has a few more things to get done and she will be almost new again. But win or lose she will still get the help needed. This contest has taken it's toll on it's contestants. But I hope at least someone from MDS wins. Good luck to us all.

Lexi, Addie, and a few others are also in this contest. I don't know how you can cheat with online voting, but I guess it is possible. I only post for votes on my personal blog myself and I belong to other groups. I also place ads for votes. I campaign everyday for votes and work very hard at it, as does everyone else. All the contestants are winners in my book, but only a few will win the money. I hope all who vote are voting only 5 stars for everyone. If you are not going to vote 5 stars for everyone, than please do not vote. The contest should be as honest as can be. I vote once a day, and of course I vote for my dog. I do not vote, nor give bad stars to others as it is bad karma to do so. Good Luck to all from MDS who are in this contest. Paws crossed for us all.

I'm sorry you feel that helping me with my Lexi is ridiculous or that she is a stupid topic. The contest runs until 2/29/08 and we have to keep it fresh until then. If anyone wants to point a finger. Point it at all the jerks that abuse animals and not the ones that are helping them. It is your decision on whether or not to read this forum, to get involved, or to even vote. Your votes and support are more than welcome, but please keep the negative thoughts out. You know bad karma and all. I give a great big hug to all who are being supportive in my quest.

Please don't forget to vote for Lexi today. She is on the road to recovery. 2 teeth were pulled today and a deep cleaning done. Her gums are still infected and bright red from the lack of care. So please go and vote. I know she is only 1 dog compared to hundreds, but she is known and loved by alot of you and didn't deserve to be neglected by her previous owners. This will help me, help her. I don't care who he is or what he does. When it comes to animal abuse there is no punishment too high or to much. Every action that you do has a reaction. If you go through life treating our precious creatures will such disrespect it will fall back upon you. I have no use for those who treat anything less than equal to themselves. When you think you are better than anyone else and act out in a manner that doesn't reflect any thing other than great kindness, than you will be punished as you should be. If not by man than by powers greater than ourselves.

I didn't know this was going to be such an issue. I didn't ask the ones who helped me get Lexi for help as it is not their fault for her condition. I sent an email to the owner stating the medical problems that Lexi has so far. I received no response from them. So to help me pay for her medical it was my ideal to enter her in the contest. I just thought that as a dog group that if I asked for votes it was better than begging for money. But hey, Lexi will get the help she needs, if I have to clean toilets to get the money. It's about her and not who is responsible. So I want to thank the people who are voting everyday for Lexi, and win or not, at least something is being done to help her. If I had as much money as heart, this wouldn't be an issue. But when I become a great designer of dog fashions and become well known, I will remeber the ones who stood by me and not in front on me.

Yeah there are always cost involved. But if you knew Lexi's whole story you would better understand why I'm in shock over the conditions she is in. Lexi came from a VERY well do family. Steppford home and all. The family paid around $1200.00 for the dog. So it was thought that this was just a rehoming because Lexi was snapping at the children in the home. Just goes to show you it doesn't matter how much money you have, doesn't mean you deserve a loyal and loving companion as Lexi. Does that help you understand alittle more about what is going on. I'm not rich and can afford the normal things that goes with having a companion pet. But this was not something that was planned for. My whole story is alittle more involved. It's just a simple thing to do for one of the creatures we share our lives with. But if it is to much trouble, than we understand.

If someone was asking for something so simple as just placing a vote everyday, it would be a no brainer. Oh yeah that's how I recieved Lexi, by stepping up to the plate in one of my groups. Loyality is in the beholder. That why dogs make great companions, because they are loyal and would rock the vote.
