Topic: Fun / Where did you get your name?

Snowden - from Target - Snowden is Raggidy Ann and Andy's snowman pal. When my Dad brought Snowden home from being abandoned at his work, my brother gave her a bowl w/ Snowden the Snowman on it, and she's used it ever since.

Olivia - from Law & Order SVU - we love Mariska Harigtay. We were going to name her Mariska but it was too hard to yell it.

The puppies are loving it. It took about a week to get adjusted, but it's going really well now. They eat the weight maintence one and the can food. I bought every kind in the variety. Snowden's liquid medicine goes on the wet food and she really loves it, so that's a huge help. I even only feed them the "Wellbars" as treats now. Costs a bit of money, but you know- an ounce of prevention...

Topic: Advice, Training And Tips / Poop!

Olivia has had this problem awhile. Even when we lived in the home she was used to, she would poop outside and inside. She poops in different places in the house - the living room, kitchen or hallway.. I give her great rewards of love and treats when she poops outside, and scold her when she poops inside, but neither seem to be helping! I hope that taking her out frequently is going to help her, she likes to be outside (except in bad weather) but I can't leave her out there alone, she barks and cries. For a little dog, she has a loud bark. Since we're new in the neighborhood, I would hate to make any enemies!

Thanks for the advice.. any more would be appreciated..

Olivia has been just pooping in the house whenever she feels like it. I take her outside and it could be for an hour and she will still come in and within a brief time, she'll have pooped. I try not to get very angry, because sometimes I'm not catching her do it, but I really need some help here. We just bought a house and are in the process of fixing it up, with everything new, it will not be cool for poop! Please help!

Snowden had her first seizure at 9 months old - and it turned out to be epilepsy. Was there any heat involved? Perhaps it could just be a serious food allergy?

Topic: Advice, Training And Tips / What to do, in case.....

What to do when your Olivia runs away?? Any ideas on this, Olivia has been bolting for the door every time someone is careless and isn't watching.. She has been running around the block, and luckily we have caught her every time so far. She used to come back if offered a treat, or if I called Snowden back, but now she doesn't stop even to sniff ( the other way we caught her). This past time, a stranger stopped in her SUV and got out, and Olivia went over to her to be friendly, and we were able to get her. Are there any ideas lately on how to stop her marathon runs? Please help, I don't want to loose little Olivia.

I totally agree. It makes me sick to my stomach that this man gets paid millions of dollars and he gets to hide behind his money while these poor animals suffered. I think he should be permanently banned from the NFL, let him try to live in the real world. He won't get very far. This whole situation is just an example how sports "heros" can just do whatever they want and are immune to the justice system!

Thanks for the info, I am going to go home and check the new dog food I just started the girls on. It's Nutro brand, but it's the baked organic with flax seed - there's some other words in the name. When I was reading the ingredients there wasn't a lot of preservatives or bad things in it. I will look at it very closely now! Thanks a lot for this information.

Snowden after Raggidy Ann & Andy's Snowman friend Snowden. When my dad first brought her home, my brother used a Snowden bowl to give her water.. and the name stuck! Olivia is named after Mariska Hargatay's character on Law & Order SVU! That's a great show and I can't yell Mariska, so Olivia was it! :)

Hey GoldenMom! I am reading Marley & Me and I love it so far. I haven't gotten to the end, so I am sure I am going to cry big time. Are there any other books like that out there, I'm not into training books. I think that Snowden and Olivia are about as trained as they are going to get.. And I'm fine with that. But - I am behind you Golden Mom. :)
