Topic: Support And Suggestions / Keeping Dog in Crate I have a friend who owns a large dog and is going on vacation for 10 days. No problem you say. Except...the family really should not own a dog. This poor dog is going to be left in her crate for the entire time that they are away only to be let out in the morning and evening for potty breaks (much needed!) and to eat I guess. I am just very upset with this friend that she can go away and leave this beautiful dog in a crate for so long, alone and with no exercise or companionship. She does not realize how much these dogs rely on us for attention, affection among other things. I would take the dog to my home (and still may) but I am working part time now and I'd have to leave her in a crate in a strange home for at least 6 hours. And, my three dogs have the run of the house all the time. I don't know what to do about this poor dog. It really tugs at my heart to think that the dog they "love so much" is being left behind and treated like this. It's bad enough that she is put in this crate everytime they feel she is too playful or looking for too much attention. And heaven forbid, she should have an accident on the floor!! Back to the crate she goes!! I just hate it and don't know what to do. Does anyone have ANY suggestions??? Please help...Thanks, Holly's mom, Ruth |

Topic: Rescues, Shelters And Adoptions / MDS Rescue Dog needs our help Well, I don't have any money but it sure won't cost me anything but a little time to go and vote for poor little Lexi. She's the one that needs the help. I'm gonna vote right now and I hope she wins!! Happy New Year! |

Topic: Support And Suggestions / Msg From Doggie Management Geesh!! We get a New Year and we lose mds? I'm so glad to know it wasn't our computer! We were worried that we were the only ones who couldn't get into mds. We are so glad to be up and running again. We wondered what all our pals were doing. Thanks for fixing whatever happened. We just have to watch Cesar Milan, too. Mom won't let a Friday night go by without watching his magic. She wishes she could make us behave like Cesar's dogs. (Ha!) Luv, Holly |

Topic: Support And Suggestions / Howl-O-Ween Party ? Well, I think we did it!! We forced that rascal Holly to get in a costume and she didn't like it at all. I got a few pictures that won't win any prizes but at least we can participate with our pals. Got a few of little Hogan too. He just wanted to be left alone but you know "Mom". So, I sent an email to Hershey and hopefully the photos got attached like they were suppose to and he got them. Time will tell. |

Topic: Media / Ellen DeGeneres in the Doghouse This poor little dog!! Going from one home to another and the shelter. I honestly hope that that rescue org. will allow that family (if they are the right ones) to adopt that dog. Ellen already paid all that money to have him neutered and some training. They shouldn't even charge that new family to adopt the dog. They already have their money. I even heard on Paul Harvey news today, "Please return Iggy to those girls." Word sure gets around. Hopefully, the little dog will be "home" soon. |

Topic: Health, Diet And Vets / Tear Stains..How to remove? Thank you so much. Mom will be very happy. I really don't care and don't like when she messes with my face. I'll try to be good though. She said we don't have any chamomile tea bags around. |

Topic: Health, Diet And Vets / Tear Stains..How to remove? My puppy, Shih Tzu-Peek-A-Poo mix has those awful redish brown stains under her eyes and I would like to get them off. The Vet said to keep the hair trimmed around her eyes but that doesn't seem to help. She is really a cutie (mom talking) and those stains make her look really messy. I've tried "Tear Clear" but that hasn't worked. Tried warm water on wash cloth..no help. Tried Saline Solution...helped a little. Does anyone have any other suggestions?? She looks great after a day at the "Beauty Shop" but she doesn't go all the time. Please help if you can. Thanks |
