Topic: Breeds Club / Yorkies

Everyone has heard of the 36 yorkies found in the home right, well yeah I adopted one camping out at the Palm Beach Count Animal Control and Rescue for 3 days and 2 nights. I ended up with a 3 year old female yorkie. I love my yorkie, no health problems have present themselves, she has been trained to Sit, come (this one needs work), and shake her paw, I just can’t seem to get into the “down” position. Their were no anger problems but rather she is extremely timid, she hardly EVER barks, but prefers to whine whenever I’m away.  The usual Yorkie trait of not being handled by children is very present in her, she doesn’t listen to my little 7 year old brother at all. In order of most favored by her to least is 1. Myself 2. My father 3. My mother 5. My older cousin 6 My little brother, not she practically loves me and my father, likes my mother and older cousin, but ignores my little brother. Anyway, I’m worried she is a little too timid, I would actually encourage a little aggressiveness, she is also very lazy inside the house but once a day when she gets the chance to go out she is SUPER ENTERGETIC!!! However, as soon as she re-enter the house the enery is turned COMPLETELY OFF! Another thing my Yorkie shows no attention what so ever to balls, we evern brought specialized miniture tennis balls made to accompany small dogs mouths, my yorkie doesn't play with any sort of ball, chew toy, shoe, slipper or anything. Anyway if anyone has any tips to training, making her more assertive, or whatever I’m open to new ideas.

Topic: Rescues, Shelters And Adoptions / 36 Yorkies Taken From Filthy Home

I just happened to be searching for an affordable yorkie, and I just happened to live in Plam Beach County so of course I went to the Animal Shelter camped out for 3 and 2 nights and finally adopted a 3 year old female yorkie who had given pups in those terrible conditions. Anyway although we were given no practically no option of which dog to adopt since about 5 were presented per day and there was a line system so on a particular day you might be the 5th person or the 1st person in line, we were the fifth, so we got the last avalible dog for that day, and boy was it destiny. I love my yorkie, no health problems have present themselves, she has been trained to Sit, come (this one needs work), and shake her paw, I just can't seem to get into the "down" position.
