Topic: Puppies / Nippy puppy With all the dogs we've ever owned, when they are nippy puppies we put our thumb in their mouth and hold their bottom chin (thumb goes under tongue) and tell them firmly no biting. We don't hold long and certainly not hard, but enough to get their attention. This has always worked very quickly.. We also use this in conjunction with the loud yelp when they do bite.
Of course.. many may not agree with that.. but it works for us.

Topic: Health, Diet And Vets / dogs & cat food so is there anything wrong with giving them a little bit with their own food? Seems the protien would be good for them.. |

Topic: Health, Diet And Vets / dogs & cat food Anyone know why the dogs always want to eat the cat food? There must be something in it they like or crave since when they aren't always able to get the catfood in the bowl, they tend to seek out the after-product tootsie rolls.... hrmphf.. Currently I have the cat food off to the side where they can't get to it (along with the tootsie rolls, ha!).. I was just curious what it's about .. theories, ideas? Suggestions? |

My newest favorite is Italian Greyhounds, followed closely by Whippets...
We have 3 dogs and are bringing our new puppy home in a couple weeks. (2 IGs, 1 Whippet and 1 Aussie - of whom I also love) |

Topic: Support And Suggestions / Doggie Ambassadors I would like to help with this. I'd be happy to take postcards, flyers to local pet stores, post flyers and hand out information at my place of business. |

Topic: General / multiple dogs and outings For those of you with multiple dogs.. when you go on outings.. do you take just one dog, all of them, or leave them all at home?
I prefer to leave the bigger dogs at home, but with the price of gas.. when I run errands, it's usually multiple stops.. so I leave the dogs at home, rather than leave them in the car.
We have a new dog park close by, I think I'll check it out, but only want to take one or two of dogs at a time - I also have 2 young boys.. don't want to spread myself too thin.
What do you do? |

Just found this site and I'm all set to go! What a fun place!
We live in SW Ohio and proudly snuggle with an Australian Shepherd, Whippet and Italian Greyhound... :)
Would love to make some friends. |

Topic: General / How did you first hear of mydogspace? Purely by accident.. following a link from another forum one day last week at work, I came to another dog site.. it was difficult - maybe a new site that isn't fully complete yet.. you could only have one dog per email account (difficult to say the least), there was no search feature even though it referenced it at one point in the process... anyway, tonight I couldn't remember the name of that site, so I googled dog space and found this site.. snooped around a bit, loved the ease of use and now I've put all my dogs here.
It's not like I need another website.. I have my blog mommamuse.com that I have a hard enough time keeping up with at times.. but this was just too much fun. :) |
