Hi...my name is Astrid Nicole. My name was already Astrid when I lived at the Santa Cruz Co Humane Society in Nogales, AZ but on December 28, 2006, just before my mom and dad asked me to get in their car so we could drive to my forever home, my mom gave me the middle name Nicole. Sometimes people call me by my whole name but mostly they just call me Astrid. I lived in Arizona for a few months after getting my forever home, but soon we moved to Charlotte, NC. I really like it here, and there's lots to do. I became a therapy dog and am registered with Therapy Dogs, Inc.. I visit living and rehabilitation centers and also an Alzheimer's center. Sometimes, if I'm not visiting, I go to a class on Sundays to learn new stuff.
We are really grateful for the way the people at the Santa Cruz Co Humane Society took care of me, so we wanted to give something back. We started an online Etsy store and sell bandanas, collar covers and scrunchies, note and gift cards and we donate the proceeds to my shelter. We work on different projects, and the project we are working on right now is pouring cement slabs in the kennels so that the doggies have a cleaner and healthier surface to live on. Through our sales, we have already poured four of these slabs!
