boonie "the snare" mcnair is a sofa spud, a snuggler, a beggar, and an unwilling 'rassler.'   the first time we met her was at the shelter during 'dinner hour.'   she was afraid she'd miss dinner and she REALLY had to doot.  she curled up into a 'doot pod' right there in the room, but the shelter volunteer said "no no no!  come on outside, girl!' and boonie aborted her doot.   we knew then that she was a special dog.  they said she was a 'black lab with a little bit of gray' who had been dropped off by her owners as they were on their way to fly to paris, france to live.   but boonie is covered UP with gray and there might have been a black lab in the haystack.  she has an hilarious sense of dignity and humor, and she can jump up whup her tongue across your face faster than the speed of light.   she's P-L-E-A-S-A-N-T as can be.   she also worries and frets and stews when we're not home, laughs at all our jokes, pesters her daddy into hilarious spasms, and eats anything edible.   she thinks everyone on the block lives in 'our yard,' and people love her.   WE'RE crazy about her!!!

p.s.---she adds that she COULD have gone to 'Pareee' if she'd wanted, but she told her former owners she wanted to stay here and wait for a GOOD daddy.

rainbo bee bop was the featured pup in our local paper.   they'd billed her as 'unsocialized' and needing a home where would be gently acclimated to a family and perhaps other pets.   the breeders who brought her to the shelter only TOLD them she was shy and unmarketable and had thus been named 'bashful'.  what is more obviously the truth is that she was the product of an unwanted mating and that she was of no use to the breeder.  she was, in fact, kept tied by chain in the remote back yard.  hence the moniker 'shy.'

but rainbo, as we've named her, immediately showed us that she's a wacky little rocket dog who loves people, loves animals, loves to play, and only manages to sleep once she's worn herself to a frazzle by bouncing off the walls, tearing up every blade of grass, played with every toy, loved everyone to within an inch of their lives and dropped . . . into several hours of unconsciousness---hahaha!!!  the surely had her pegged wrong!   she's THE most entertaining and energetic and affectionate dog this side of the moon.   maybe even on the other side of the moon, too.

rainbo luuuuuvvs to sleep right between mommy and daddy, no matter how close the quarters.   she needs only a sliver of space to wedge herself between two people, and wedge she does.   she'll sit right on top of her doggie sisters, pelting them with playful jabs until they give in and break into a chase after her.
