I was the only female in the litter and was under weight and sort of ugly as a pup so no one wanted me..
..literally. All my siblings were adopted and I had no takers coz I was a female
and ugly
thin and sickly looking. Then a young girl
came visiting with her mom and fell in love with me
and took me home as her Birthday present from her mom. Since then I hav'nt looked back. I have the most wonderful loving and caring family. The young girl sanu is now in medical school and her brother Molu is in an engineering college. They left a year after I came home but I got a life time of affection from the kids.Papa as I call him is a cardiac anaesthesiologist
(hence he named me MORPHENE....only spelt differently).Mom is great and we spend a lot of time with each other in the garden every day. I wait for the kids visit when they come home on vaccation...its the best part of my life
Papa is my favourite, he spoils me takes me for long walks and buys me all the goodies I love, and yup those car rides are fun with him. Mom does a lot of confiding in me coz I am a good listener and often tells me to pray for the kids which I do a lot.....I love the biryani mom cooks.

MIRACLE DOG
THIS IS A TRUE STORY OF AN IRISH SETTER...SAD BUT TRUE!!!!
We have a setter as you can see in this page called Morphene who is the life of our lives. It so happened that a week ago some kids found a setter straying on the road not very far form our home.....presuming it to be our dog they got it home.
This dog was ill and old and unkempt and every thing one can imagine what a stray can be...She had a huge gash on her under belly and it was "Swarming wit Maggots"...yes thats right. She was bleeding and stinking and so ill and jittery!
We took her to the local vet and the vet treated her and packed her gash with medicines and advised injections and medicines. Gradually over the days the maggots died and came out and the pus and blood stopped oozing, and the gash started healing
Since then its been one long haul for the poor dog and for us with those endless trips to the vet and then nursing her at home.
Fortunately my husband is a cardiac anaesthesiologist so he was a great help in critical care management of the dog.We did the dressing at home and finally even giving her antibiotic injections at home. At times I must say it was nauseating especially pulling out the maggots and cleaning her up and putting medicines , but the poor dog was very calm and coopreative.
I call it a MIRACLE becauze the vets thought gangeriene had set in she would not survive ...which she has done with speed.
The SAD part is that its some ones pet and apparently has abandoned it after she grew old sick and wounded. We have tried looking for the owners going from colony to colony in the area she was found but no takers.
So we have named her Caffene and she is at home with morphene who has still to accept her wholeheartedly.....
She is a lovely dog and looks old and sad but a little show of love and affection warms her up to no end ...
Her recovery has been a miracle and its a sad thing that people keep pets and throw them out when they are old and sick!!!!
She is well cared for by us and is very playful and happy, but I am
saddened by the thought of how mean people can be . Please see the photos of this orphan pet who is in good care now

Profile Barks
Sorry that we haven't barked at anybody very much lately. We've been so busy between all of the fostering for Save Our Setters's and keeping up with the day to day stuff.
We just wanted to stop by and let you know that everything is going well and that you are our BFF. We hope that everything is going well with you and your's too.
We are going to brew up a really big batch of good Irish Setter Zen to share with all of our friends!
Sorry to bark and run, but we have to get busy finding the perfect forever home for CODIE JOE. If you know somebody that would love this handsome, well mannered, little gentleman just click on his name and submit and adoption request.
Thanks for being our MDS BFF.

Thanks for sending us the link to your blog! The pictures of you girls together are so nice. We are so happy for Caffene to be in a loving home that she deserves. Morphene has done such a great job!
SUE knows what it is like to bring a new red head into the house. They can be such a disruption for a regal Irish gal, but they are so worth it in the long run.
We'll send you a big batch of good Irish Setter Zen to share!
