Harley is in failing health...
Bruno here, just wanting to let everyone know that my brother, Harley isn’t doing so good. Mom is really upset and is having a hard time dealing with it. I am too actually. I have lost my playmate. This last week has been rough on all of us so bear with me as my big paws type this out. Harley hasn’t been feeling well so Mom took him to see her boss, who is also our vet, and they did blood work and x-rays. Neither came back good. His blood work showed that he had slightly high glucose and was also anemic. His x-rays show that he has osteoarthritus in his back and hips and they are brittle. He has a fractured hip on top of all that, probably when I accidently pushed him down when we were playing about 2 weeks ago. I feel bad about that. Anyway, by fall the doctor said that he may not be able to get around anymore and he is not allowed to go for walks, no playing with me, no stairs and no jumping up. He has lost weight but is on about 4 different daily medications and it seems to be working for now. I know we are both a pair of old men Rotties but it just doesn’t seem fair to me. Lets all hope that Harley will let Mom know when it’s time before it all hurts him too much…

I'm so sorry to hear about Harley. We are thinking of him and sending him positive, happy thoughts. It's hard when our "kids" hurt.

Oh Bruno, me and mama are very sad to hear about your big brother Harley. No, it isn't fair Bruno, and don't feel bad about his hip, cause you would have been gentle if he would have let you know you were being too rough. He was probably having lots of fun too. Mama's Maxie's hips gave out too, and he finally had so much pain they had to hold him tight as he made his way to the Rainbow Bridge...oh no, mama's eyes are doing the leaky thing again. Me and mama know how sensitive and loving you old Rotties are, just like the humans that love you big old sweeties, and we are praying for you and your mama and Harley and the rest of your family.
