Harley was adopted by his new Mom early in life. He kept in contact with his family through play dates and a short time lived with his brother, Baron. In 1999, he started to see more of his brother, Bruno and once their parents married Harley moved in with Bruno and have enjoyed each others company since. Harley enjoyed walks, rides in the pick-up and play dates with his brother, Bruno. Harley also enjoyed the couple times that he got to visit his Uncle Rufus, his mother‘s brother. He liked to get and give hugs and enjoyed sharing a warm sunny patch to nap in with his kitty friend, Jake.

Harley is survived by his adopted parents, Chuck and Amy, his brother, Bruno, great-uncle, Samson and his kitty friend, Jake. He was preceded in death by his birth parents, Sage & Holly, by a brother, Baron and by his uncle, Rufus.

Funeral was the evening of April 16, 2008. No burial, body will be cremated.

Heaven's Doggy-Door

My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head was in my hand.
The Doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.

The thoughts that scurried through my head,
As I cradled him in my arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And Oh...his many charms.

Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense "I love you gaze",
Only a heart that's filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled days.

But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, "You should cry no more,
GOD also loves our canine friends,
HE's installed a 'doggy-door'!!!"

Bruno and Harley are littermates. Bruno is a little smaller than Harley at barely 100lbs. but he has lots of brains and very smart.  Bruno had a bad experience with a cat when he was a puppy and wants to chase them but he minds my husband and stops.  Bruno's favorite toy is a basketball.  Every morning, snow, rain, or sun, he is up "farming" with his ball.  He holds it with his front legs, leaning on it, he drags it backwards and then shoots it through his back legs.  If he gets excited then he goes "farming" again.  He has always slept with his nose out the flap of his dog house.  He also likes to "herd" his people.  he leans on your legs until you move to the spot where he wants you, then you have to scratch him.  Some of the antics that Bruno does are so funny.  He is always making us laugh.

Hi!  I'm Rudy, but my new adopted Dad calls me Stretch.  Mom says it's because I'm so long.  I don't know what they are talking about, that is just the way I have always been.  Anyway, I like to go places with my people and sit on their laps.  I like my chewys and my new bed.  I don't know what else to say.  Mom says that I am cute.

Hi!  My name is Egon.  It is pronounced "A-Gone", Dad says that it's German.  I guess that I don't really care as long as I'm not called late to a play date!!  I have many hobbies.....let's see....my first is CHEWING and then I like to do some more CHEWING and then I like to run around the house as fast as I can chasing Rudy, then I like to stop for a quick nap and then back to CHEWING.  Oh, did I mention that I like to CHEW?!?!  I like to chew on boxes, my Dad's arm, his toes, fingers and feet.  I like to chew on the cats if they let me and they usually don't, darn it!  I like to chew on the couch, the chairs, the table legs and chair legs, boy those are the best!  I'm asking Santa for another dining room chair cause the last one was so G-O-O-D!!!  Now, don't let your mind think that I get away with all these things!  NNNNOOOO  WWWAAAYYYY!!!!  I'm learning my puppy mammers!  I'm going to be a good boy when I grow up, just like my birth Dad, Maverick!  He lives down the street and he is really fun.  Likes to play ball.  My birth Mom, Lucy, is really cool too!  She is a good protector.  If she doesn't know you, you can't come near her kids!  You have to tell her about yourself and let her do a sniff check, make sure you check out.  All in all, I would say that I have a pretty good life here.  I got my new Mom and Dad, my birth parents and Grandma & Grandpa (they own my birth parents).  What else could a spoiled Shepie like me want?  .....besides another chair to chew?.....

Hi!  My name is Bo.  I now belong to Amy's brother-in-law who lives with them.  I came from a place where they didn't pay much attention to me but that is all behind me now!  I get walks, rides, toys to play with, I get to go to the dog park and chase that round thing that flies in the air.  I got it good now.  I play with Rudy and Egon.  We like to bark at each other and run around in circles.  Hope to meet you all here!  Amy will get some pictures of me on here soon!

Hi! I'm Piper.  I love to talk and to tell my new big brother, Rudy what to do.  He starts it and Mom makes us quit and be nice.  I am learning about pottying outside and am dong a real good job so far!  Right now my hobies are to follow Mom around the house and sit on her lap with Rudy.
