open mouth, insert toad.

this weekend i found a toad on a walk with mommy and daddy, and got him in my mouth. i'd been waiting for a chance to get SOME little creature to chew on for a long time now. all of the sudden my mouth started tasting real icky, and i dropped him. the nerve!! then my mouth started foaming, and i drooled for a real long time. mommy was running around in a panic. she kept trying to make me drink water but i just wasn't having any of it. i only wanted to lay down, drool a bunch, move to a different spot, and drool some more. i did that for a few hours while mommy and daddy were trying to watch the last episode of carnivale. she kept pausing it to wipe my mouth and all the drool up, and tell me i better have learned my lesson. no way! what's the big deal, anyway? now i just want to get that toad even worse! everytime since then, when we go outside, i try to find him as hard as i can. i'll get my revenge!

You are sure lucky. It is no longer recommended to rinse the dog's mouth after a toad encounter. It can spread the toxin and you can get water in the dog's lungs. We just had two incidents here in Fla, they did not end well. Cry

You might want to have your pet parents look in the Forum, we have a First Aid section. Thank goodess you are ok. STAY AWAY from those nasty things!Cool
