Mom's Point of View:  Tiki Barbie joins our family tradition of being named after a favorite sports figure, so she was named after Tiki Barber.  Also, we love the Caribbean and are Parrot Heads, so we wanted something to reflect the beach. Her mother is a beautiful toy Poodle and her daddy a teacup Yorkie, so Tiki is full grown and weighs in at less than 6 pounds.  Though I bought Tiki from this individual who claims to have bred her Poodle this one time to her "friends" Yorkie, I seriously doubt that was the truth - the Poodle was groomed and pretty but the flea infestation at the home was awful. The Yorkie was chained outside on a chain so heavy he could not lift his head completely.  Tiki's story has a happy ending and she definitely rules the roost and tells her big sister, Abbie (German Short Hair), how things are going to be.  I still drive by that woman's house and if I ever catch her with a dog chained like that again.... I'll probably be like a theif in the night and "rescue" it.

Tiki's Pont of View:  My mom tells me that she saw an ad in the local newspaper about me and called the "breeder".  When she went to the woman's house, she was so shocked and sickened by the conditions I was living in, she knew before she saw me that she was going to take me home. Lucikly, I was EXACTLY what she was praying for!!  I have a new home where I know nothing but love and get lots of attention.  I have a new sister, Abbie, who is very patient with me and loves to share toys.  My dad spoils me more than my mom knows about and I get to ride in the truck with him and at night I cuddle against him to stay warm and feel safe.  My mom's job takes her away from home alot (something about sales?) so she takes me along when she can and when she can't, I have acres & acres to play with Abbie on.  Life is good and my mom says everyone should support No Kill adoption centers and report "breeders" who are not ethical - I hope you understand all that, I'm too little to really get it just yet.

 Dad's Point of View:  Who knew such a little ball of fur could steal a heart so fast?  I've always loved dogs, but this one is truly very special.  She's an amazing dog and I can't imagine what we did before she came home and taught us a few things about life!  Woody Wisdom:  Love your children and spouse like you love your dog and you'll always be happy and loved in return!

I was bred at Wildrose Germanshort Ranch in West Texas and came to live in the Texas Hill Country with my mom & dad when I was 2 months old.  However, I went back to Wildrose Ranch for extensive bird training for a long, long time with Mr. Charlie and boy was that FUN!!!  I'm a bit bird crazy, and any bird will do, but my favorites are Chucker and Pheasant.  After training for a long time and missing my family, I came home for a rest.  Then I went to a nice lady outside of San Antonio for more training.  School is hard, but I'm a fast learner and am told I have a superb nose.  I just went on my very first "real" hunt, just dad & I and he's so proud of me.  I quickly found 7 of the 10 birds all by myself.  What a great day....

I love my mom & dad and we have a nice place where I can run on acres & acres.  Still, I did get lonely.  When mom brought home Tiki Girl, boy, things sure changed fast!  She's ok, but not into birding - go figure!  Even when she chews on my ears, steals my toys and eats out of my bowl...I still like her lots.  She keeps things hoppin' and when we have to be in the outdoor kennel when mom & dad are gone for a few hours - she keeps me from getting bored.

My life is great!  Hugs & kisses all the time, bird hunting and/or training all year and a little sister to play with.  Ahhhhh
