Thank you all...
For those that took the time to send their prayers and sentiments for my Amelia, I cannot express how much comfort I got from it all, and would be humbled if y’all would accept my sincere thanks.
The loss of a pet is bad enough but y’all went above and beyond.
For that, thank you!
Know that Amelia will always be with me, literally. For those that don’t know my plans, it’s simple. Papers are already signed to have her cremated privately, as opposed to one big pile of pets, and her ashes returned to me. From there, when time permits, we will travel to N.Carolina (from Illinois) and use those ashes to tattoo her portrait on my left thigh. Whatever is left will hold a place of honor wherever I am.
To those with ailing or lost pets, know that my prayers are with you too.

Oh Doc, Hadn't been online and just got the news about that beautiful angel. Please accept our deepest symphaties. I had bark how Amelia looked so much like my GSD that I had as a young girl. My shadow, Gemini. Now I'm sure that Gemini was waiting at that bridge, saying "HEY my mom prayed that you'd be coming and for me to lead you over the bridge" and I'd like to think they are romping around together waiting for us to come and be with them again someday. Comforting thoughts I hope..........sigh It's never easy but know you have people here who will always think of you and your girl and think the warmest thoughts of you. As a fellow "tat addict" lol please post pix of that tat once you get it. Very interesting and what a sweet tribute to your best friend! I'm hope you plan on staying here on MDS and continue sharing in the bond that the members here have formed. Lee and Jack

i am so sorry for your loss. I know it is a tough time for you. If you are so inclined, it would be great if you post a picture of the tattoo of Amelia when it's completed. I would love to see it!

When my Moms Jessy died Mom had her cremated too! We put some ashes on the flowers that she always liked to potty on and the rest are in a pretty vase where we can say Hi to her on a regular basis! Mom also had a TILE made with Jessys pretty face on it and so now Jessy sits right above us whenever we are on the computer! We are sad for u! Tessa and Mom
