Birthday: August 14, 1995
Breed: Border Collie
Secondary Breed: Akita
Size: Medium
Nickname: Zeph
From: Wayside Waifs
Home Date: October 30, 1995
She came out of a litter of five puppies at a local shelter. Four of them looked just alike, and one looked like a collie. I wanted the one that looked like a collie, but my kids' father said, "Get this one" pointing at Zephyr. He later told me he picked her because she pushed ahead of the rest to get to us.
She put me through hell the first two years, but has turned out to be one of the best behaved dogs you've ever seen.

When I got this one, I was told she was a lot younger than she was... I was told she was 2.5 - 3 mos when she was more like 5.5 mos. Therefore she didn't get nearly as big as I thought, and it wasn't until she lost her puppy fuzz that I figured out what breed she is.
Neesa is super attentive and has to be around someone all the time... namely me. Luckily she doesn't suffer from separation anxiety, but I think that's due to the other puppy, Maia.
She's highly intelligent and eager to please. She's also very intuitive; able to figure things out extremely quick. She's a great pleasure to be around.

Maia was born in foster care. She is truly a mutt of mutts... there's so many breeds evident in her it's strange.
She's a very laid back dog. Fairly calm inside and out in the yard. She's also very sensitive, and wants to remove herself immediately from any area where there are negative vibes. She's a great teacher in the realm of patience.
Because she's so gentle and beautiful, she has begun her training to become a therapy dog.

Hi Zephyr,
I was wondering if you know about our MDS group for senior dogs. The GODIG faqs and links can give you more info. We'd love to have you.

Our weekend is over and we are sad that ma and pa have to go back to work. Two more long weeks before we get some time to do our favorite fun stuff again.
This weekend was fun. Eine went to Madison on Friday to have her hips xray'd and sent in to OFA for evaluation. The doctor that took the pictures thought they looked great. We'll see.
Saturday night we went to Galena again for their halloween parade. That was fun!

Hi Pals,
Another Sunday night. Another weekend gone. Soon the snow will fly! We had a great time yesterday at Country Fair Weekend in Galena,IL. We walked all over and enjoyed country fair treats. We had nice weather once again and not looking forward to yet another work week - BLAH.
Here are a couple of pictures from the event...
Green Bean met a lady he really liked, he gave her a puppy kiss. What a traitor!

Zephyr, I see Butch has already approached you about joining GODIG. We'd be honored to have you! I also wanted to make sure that other senior dogs who see this know that they're welcome, too.

I got my wheels from doggon wheels. I love my wheels and I run about two miles per day in them. Recently doggon sent me purple wheels! We love doggon! They have worked really hard to insure my wheels fit me well and operate efficiently. They are constantly supportive and have even reviewed my jogging videos to make sure my wheels were working well. The are very caring and work hard to keep me running!

by the sounds of it, you and i would get along great! There are many people I would like to take a frying pan to. Sounds like he shouldn't have any dog at all. I just wonder if people like that got a dog with the idea to make more puppies, or if they got the dog as a pet and companion...
Thanks for being our pal.
