Zephyr's CGC Certification

I had never heard of CGC certification until I got my two puppies.  I'd always wanted to make my older dog into a therapy dog, but I figured it would be some crazy test so I put it out of my mind.  Now with the arrival of my new canine babies and the help of the internet I find out my Zephyr could have aced the CGC and Therapy certs a long time ago!

I signed Zephyr up at Dog Obedience Group to take her CGC on October 4th at 1pm.  They only do CGC tests on the first Saturday of even-numbered months.  So the next test won't be until December.  After signing her up, I remember that the MO-KAN Border Collie Rescue Reunion is that day... from 12pm-4pm way up north.  GGGRRRR

Now... do I skip the reunion to do the certification, or do I see if they'll make an exception on the time of the test that day?  Oh what to do... what to do...?

What about looking for another CGC test, at another location?  If you go to the AKC website, they have a section on the CGC, including a place where you can look up CGC evaluators in your state: http://www.akc.org/events/cgc/cgc_bystate.cfm .  There are a ton of them in Missouri, so maybe there's someone else in your area who'll be holding a test at a more convenient time.  Otherwise, I think I'd go to the rescue reunion, since there's only one date for that.  There will be other CGC tests, even if you have to wait a couple of months.  One way or another, I'm sure Zephyr will do great!
