Rutzie, I actually did something like that today but not as drastic. Mommy and I just got back from my puppy groom and we went in the house. I ran all the way upstairs to greet Daddy. Once I got up there I realized Mommy had went back outside! What was she doing? I waited by the front door and it swung open. Whew good thing it didn't hit me. I ran out the front door. Mommy called me to come back in and I finally did after a minute. I overheard her talking to daddy and she was pretty upset that he didn't watch me because she did tell him she had to get some bags from the car. Luckily I am a good boy and listened to mommy, otherwise she too would have a huge heart attack and not just a mini one!

I did that to my mommy once. We were in her friend's store and they left the door open because they were trying to chase a bird out. I must have been jealous because mommy was giving that stupid bird all her attention, so I decided to leave. Luckilly I was smart enough to find my way to the parking lot and wait by our van for her. That'll teach her not to pay attention to me. Anyway, I'm glad it turned out good in your case too!

OH RUZ!
THat is very dangerous. You MUST wear (as we call them here, ) your necklace with your tag, every day! God forbid, what if your house caught afire?
You need your ID on you, 24/7. Ok, take it off when you get a bath, but that is all. Heck, even our tortoise, Selena wears her tag (and she has dug out of our fence 2x)!!! THANK GOD you were found, safe and sound. I hope you write the people who found you a nice note!
