"This is Jasmine. She was rescued from a local kill shelter and is as sweet as she can be. Even though it was her last day to be alive, she was still sitting in her kennel being as good as she could be. She would sit there and not make sound, just watch and shiver as people passed by her cage making faces at her and jumping away like she had some kind of contagious disease. She has done nothing to them, and is just as beautiful as she can be... she wasn't even barking! But because of her breed and the stereotype that comes with it, she has been overlooked and shunned away. She has just as much love to offer as any other dog there, and she was patiently waiting for someone to come by and say, "Oh, what a pretty dog!" and pet her head. She had no idea why she was there, and what she had done so wrong to be brought there. She is good with other dogs and people. She is not food aggressive and just wants to sit next to you and love you. She was so happy when we opened her cage door and took her out. You could just see the relief in her big brown eyes like, "I can't believe they picked ME!" She was one of the lucky ones to walk out of that shelter that day. She was out of luck, no more second chances and she KNEW (you could see it on her face) that she was going to die."
