ATTENTION ALL YOU CANINE FRIENDS
The time is near for our bestest show on earth!!! It is “THE GREATEST AMERICAN DOG (TALENT) SHOW… It premeers on July 10th a(Thursday) I hope some of my friends out there ore on it…wouldn’t that be coollllllllllllllllllllllll I forget what channel I will have to ask mom or pay attention next time I see the advertisment or even better I can search the tv and it will tell me…HA!!! that’s what I’ll do. Mom gets nervous when I do that so I might have to sneak when she is in the other room…I’ll let you know just as soon as I get the chance…. Everybody start practicing and maybe you could go on it too….Im so excited…..Tucker Ohh Ohh Ohh I found it it is on CBS!!!

Warning to all dog owners – pass this on to everyone you can Last Friday evening, I arrived home from work, fed Chloe, our 24 Lb. dachshund, just as I normally do. Ten minutes later I walked into the den just in time to see her head inside the pocket of Katie’s friend’s purse. She had a guilty look on her face so I looked closer and saw a small package of sugar-free gum. It contained xylitol. I remembered that I had recently read that sugar-free gum can be deadly for dogs so I jumped on line and looked to see if xylitol was the ingredient. I found the first website below and it was the one.Next, I called our vet. She said to bring her in immediately.
Unfortunately, it was still rush hour and it took me almost 1/2 hour to get there. Meanwhile, since this was her first case, our vet found another website to figure out the treatment. She took Chloe and said they would induce her to vomit, give her a charcoal drink to absorb the toxin (even though they don’t think it works) then they would start an iv with dextrose. The xylitol causes dogs to secrete insulin so their blood sugar drops very quickly.
The second thing that happens is liver failure. If that happens, even with aggressive treatment, it can be difficult to save them.
She told us she would call us.
Almost two hours later, the vet called and said that contents of her stomach contained 2-3 gum wrappers and that her blood sugar had dropped from 90 to 59 in 30 minutes. She wanted us to take Chloe to another hospital that has a critical care unit operating around the clock. We picked her up and took her there. They had us call the ASPCA poison control for a case number and for a donation, their doctors would direct Chloe’s doctor on treatment. They would continue the iv, monitor her blood every other hour and then in 2 days test her liver function. She ended up with a central line in her jugular vein since the one in her leg collapsed, just as our regular vet had feared.
Chloe spent almost the entire weekend in the critical care hospital. After her blood sugar was stabilized, she came home yesterday. They ran all the tests again before they released her and so far, no sign of liver damage. Had I not seen her head in the purse, she probably would have died and we wouldn’t even had known why.
Three vets told me this weekend, that they were amazed that I even knew about it since they are first learning about it too. Please tell everyone you know about xylitol and dogs. It may save another life.
I miss everyone
Mom and dad have been terribly busy and I don’t get much time on the comp. (cause they won’t let me on when they aren’t around, I can’t figure that one out but that’s the rule, grrrrrr) Dad started a new job and is gone this week and we also have a duplex that we rent and both tenants moved out and we have to spiffy it up for the new people to move in. One is on the 15th of june so we have to hurry… I get to help… I carry paint brushes (from room to room)... I even try and paint with my tail….I try and clean up the old popcorn ceiling off the floor after they scrape it off…Mom says she will clean it up cause it isn’t good for me…. Ha, try and stop me!!! I want to help too!!!
So out in the yard I go and then I clean up in the packasandra cause they left all kinds of goodies there…Anyway we have to go start our day.

Happy memorial Day… Mom and Dad went on a trip for 4 daqys and I got to stay with my favorite Aunt and Uncle… I was so happy there and they played with me and I got to take all my toys… They also gave me a LOT of treats (don’t tell mom) and I told them that I will be coming back in June cause mom and dad have to go on an overnight trip again… Anyway just wanted to say Happy Memorial Day to everyone ( even though it’s a little late ).....Tucker
busy time now
Sorry everyone that I haven’t been around… This is the starting of the busy season. both mom and dad golf alot and and then they make me come out in the yard cause there is so much to do now that the weather is getting nicer with yard work and planting and mowing and washing windows and I help cause then the best part is now that it is nice we go on long walks and I get to see all my friends that have been in all winter… so I apolagize that I don’t get to say hi individualy very often but I want everyone to know that I think of you all all the time and every second mom lets me on the puter I will bark at you. now I want rainy days so I can come on and play….. I just want to wish my mom a Happy Birthday! I haven’t seen much of her today cause I think she went somewhere to play ball with a stick and she told me that I couldn’t go cause they don’t allow dogs there unless you know how to chase geese.I don’t know how to do that…How can you play ball and not invite meeeeee.. Oh well… She is home now and she tried to get me to play with a frizbe but iam kinda afraid of it flying at me. I will bring it back to her but not sure about catching it quite yet… I kinda close my eyes… I think we are going to go for a ride. OMG I love to go for rides.. come on come on lets go now…. Maybe she will take me to my favorite store and let me pick out a new toy…..bye for now and HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM…..Tucker
Back to the ole grind
Well my friend Madison has gone back home..But she has come to visit me twice so far(she really misses me) I kept her so busy so she wouldn’t be sad that her parents were away…Now back to playing with George and then going inside and outside and inside and outside and inside and outside… anybody know that game. drives mom nuts… The weather is nice and Iam confused as to weather I want in or out.. There is alot of yard work to be done.. I think I have a work schedule of digging in the garden and eating some leftover deer poop and peeing on the newly growing flowers and oh yeah chasing the water that comes out of the hose… Thats alot of work so I best get busy….. Later my good friends

Guess What????????
Mom let me have a sleep over for a week…. Madison (maddy) she is my golden girlfriend down the street and her family went to Florida for a week and she got to come here and stay with me…. Oh my gosh im so excited we got to sleep in the same room with mom and dad… and I shared her toy with me lololo and I played with George for her and she wines at the cats sometimes I tell her it’s ok and she listens… Mom took some pictures and I will have her post them.. and we played in the back yard, and we ate dinner and breakfast together and and and oh my im so excited….............. pantpantpantpantpantpantpant…........

IM SOOOOO SORRY EVERYONE!
Iam sorry I haven’t been able to pull up the site on the comp. It would not let me come to MDS… and I didn’t receive a couple of barks one from Olie and one from Monty… My regular email told me I had them and the last time I could get on they weren’t there. I could go everywhere else on the net… Anyway YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEE It let me come on in a flash and all is well…
