I was home from college for the summer when we got Maxx, so I hadto leave him in the fall. My family moved to Virginia the following year. After I graduated from college, my father died and I moved to an apartment by myself and my mom insisted that I have Maxx with me to keep me company. He lived with me for a year and had complications with bloat. We went through the surgery to tack his stomach to his body cavity, come to find out that a simple $14 bottle of pills cleared up the problem. This after several weeks of sutures opening up, bloat reoccurances and several thousands of dollars later. I had to move again, and could not have a "vicious breed" like a German Shepherd, so I took him back to be with my mom. My mom died January of '07, so my brother in St. Louis came to get Maxx and take care of him until I could find a place where I could have him. I just got a house and close at the end of July, and will be taking a trip to St. Louis to retrieve Maxx. We'll start training for himto be a therapy dog soon after.
