Sophie was given to me to replace my grandson  Forest.  Forest belonged to my daughter.  He was suppose to be my sister's. She got him when he was six weeks old.  On his first night home, my daughter begged her Nina, let him sleep with me just one night.  My sister lost him the minute she said ok. He was Lizzie's from that night on.  He was with our family for ten years.  Forest was killed by a pitbull when a stupid cousin let him out of the house on purpose, when I had already asked her not to let him out.  Needless to say I no longer see or speak to that person. I had to call my daughter who was in her first year of college and tell her what had happened to Forest. She took his death very hard.  So, when I called to tell her about Sohpie, she didn't want anything to do with her.  She said if I kept her she would me mine and that she could not bond with her because she was not home. I told my friends from work, who had given her to me that I couldn't take her. The girls in the office wouldn't let me give her back without taking her home for one night.  So I took her home and didn't play with or hold her very much and had her sleep in her carrier.  I took her back to work the next day to return her and once again the girls wouldn't let me give her back.  They said I hadn't really given her a chance and how could I tell in one day that she was not ment to be a part of my family.  Next thing I know a teacher cames into the office and  see's the puppy and says "she looks like a Sophie". And since I had recently lost my mother who's nickname was Sophia (as in the Golden Girls) I decided that was the perfect name. My daughter came home for spring break. Sophie slept with her every night while she was home.  The rest is history.  My daughter will be starting her senior year of college this August.  She keeps telling me that when she graduates and starts her career she's taking her sister (Sophie) with her. I laugh and tell her I thought you didn't want her.  Since Sophie became a part of our family, we have added six more beautiful members of the doggy persuasion and one of the cat persuasion.

LuLu happens to be Forest' granddaughter.  About eight years ago Forest became a daddy.  I gave one of the puppies to a friend.  Her family named him Buddy.  Six years later her son is given a female Pomeraian puppy. Well, the next thing you know there are three puppies.  One male and two females.  I tell my daughter and of course she tells me she must have one because they are Forest' grandchildern.  I'm getting ready to move out of state in about three months time.  But I go to my friends house and she wants to give me one of the females.  The larger of the two.  I tell her I want the runt because she has the same marking as Forest.  I send my daughter a picture via cell phone.  My phone rings and she's telling me she's mine don't leave without her!  So, I take her home and talk my daughter into naming her LuLu.  She just looked like a LuLu...  As I mentioned above, I was getting ready to move out of state  and my friend tells me she's keeping the male puppy and they want to give either Buddy or the Pomeranian away to a good home.  Of course when I tell my daughter this, she tells me, mom you have to take Buddy he was Forest' son.  That's how I became a three dog family.  The story continues.

As you read in LuLu's bio, Buddy is her father and the son of Forest.  I gave Buddy to a friend about nine years ago and by some miracle/divine intervention he has return to us.  How can a greatgrandma say no to her great gradson...

I was moving from one state to another, to be partners with a cousin who had recently lost his life partner and could not afford to keep his property without the second income.  They had several animals, a pony, a ram, a sheep, a couple of goats, four water turtles, six dogs, some iguanas, about three 40 to 50 gallon aquariums, thirty some snakes and a couple of desert tortoise'.  When I got to his house just about all the fish were dead.  There were three dead iguanas in cages and two that were staving.  Out of thirty something snakes, only three were left.  The tortoise was eating poop to servive and the goats and the pony had just about eaten all the bushes and the leaves off any trees they could reach.  The dogs were nothing but skin and bones.  When I told my cousin the animals were starving, he tryed to tell me that they had plenty to eat.  That the grass he had planted had seven kinds of feed in it, alpha and other stuff like that.  Mind you, he had two and a half acres of dirt and rocks.  He tryed to tell me the reason Jimbo was just skin and bones was because he had worms from eating the poop. I stated to water the dirt, and grass grew. I bought alpha, saks of carcked corn, carrots, apples, chicken (for the snapping turtles.  How they survived I don't know). 44 lbs  bags of dog food.  All the animals started to gain weight, including Jimbo.  A short time after I had invested a great deal of money in his animals and his debts, he told me to get out of his house.  It was ugly, I had to call the police because he was on drugs and violent.  I got out two days later.  He told me not to take his animals, but of course when I went to pick up the last of my belonging he told me I could have Jimbo & Molly (Jimbos wife). I opened the car door and they jumped in. That made it five dogs!

Molly is Jimbo's wife.  I got her from my jerk cousin as you might have read in Jimbo's bio.  What I did't tell you before is that when I arrived at my cousin's house, Molly was pregnant.  She gave birth to six puppies in July, 2007.  Five males and one female.  I found homes for all the puppies but two.  My sister had decided she was going to keep the biggest one. Which I named Mr. Big. There was still one male puppy I had to find a good home for when the drama with my jerk cousin took place.  So I packed them up along with the rest of my belonging and moved them to my current home.  Needless to say, I couldn't find what I felt was a good home for Mr. Big's one remaining brother.   Unfortunately, Mr. Big became ill and died soon after the move.  After this happened, I couldn't bear to part with the last remaing puppy.  Molly is such a good mother.  She hates it when I scold her baby.  Whenever I put him in the Kennel, she finds a way to get me to let him out.  I know, I know, you all think I'm crazy, but you don't know Molly. She's beautiful and I don't know how I ever lived without Molly & Jimbo + one.  

Brutus is the puppy I couldn't find a home for.  Not one that I thought was good enough.  He is so spoiled. He loves to be held.  At six months old, he was already as big as a horse.  He's eleven months old now and he thinks he's the size of a small lap dog.  He has so much energy. He can run and play all day.  He's not only spoiled by his grammy, his mom spoils him too!  Molly loves to clean his ears and takes naps with her baby. 

D.O.G. is a Basset hound who belonged to another cousin of mine in California.  She no longer had the time to care for him.  When I picked him up he was being eaten alive by fleas.  He also had two open wounds on the top of his head and smelled like death.  When I gave him his first bath my hands and arms were covered with blood and fleas.  After six baths he no longer smelled, I medicated his wounds and it was hard to find a flea on him.  Needless to say he is now a very happy, spoiled and loved doggy.  Brutus is his best friend.  The love of his life is Molly.  She wants nothing to do with him.  Jimbo is her man. He loves barking at and chasing Brutus. His other love is being next to or as close to Molly when he's not playing.  He also loves to bug his mommy until she scratches his ears.  Life is Good!!!
