I GOT BIT BY A BIG DOG!!!
For my first blog, I didn’t want it to be a bad one but I guess it kinda is.
Last night I was out in the yard and those big ole dogs on the other side of the fence were "calling" me to come over. (Hahaha) Little ole me found a small hole in the old fence and I wiggled through. Wow, I was in their yard! I can finally see these dogs and meet them. BAD IDEA!!
Mom always says those dogs would eat me up. Silly me, I didn’t believe her. I am so big and brave and strong I can handle them. WRONG!! One of those ole dogs grabbed me and shook me and I yelped and was sooo scarreddd! The lady who lives there got me away from those dogs and brought me home to my mom who thought I was in my own backyard being nosey. That lady said her dogs wouldn’t hurt me!! WRONG AGAIN!!
They did! Mom found a hole in my side and I was bleeding!! She got really scared too and tried to clean me up from the slobber and stuff. We went to Uncle Barry’s and he helped mom clean me too.
So, this morning, my mom called my Dr. and I had to go. They made me stay all day and I got a shot, my side shaved, some ole tube put in my side to drain some stuff, some stitches, more medicine, a new funny blue collar…I got the works. Mom brought me back to my own house this afternoon and I was so glad to be home and see Hogan and Dixie. (I think Dixie even licked me!!)
My side really is kinda sore and mom has to clean it off a couple a times a day to get me better. Mom says it could have been so much worse and I am one lucky puppy dog. (I don’t see any luck yet.) I have to go back on Friday to have that tube taken out. Mom says I’ll be OK but I sure am tired now. I hope I remember to NOT go near those big ole dogs again. They sound like they want me to play but I don’t think so. Mom is afraid that since I have a short memory, I will do the same thing again. I sure hope I remember. I don’t like dog bites on my side or anywhere else!!
Maybe we’ll all sleep better tonight since mom knows that I will be OK. She loves me and took good care of me today. I even went for a car ride which wasn’t so bad. Puppies sure can get into trouble. I just have to learn to believe what my mom says. I guess she does know something after all. I love my mom too and I want to be good for her but sometimes it is so hard to do!

just to let you know i have a big doggie next door and hes mean and always trying to get at me. he can almost jump the fence. the owner says hes a big baby, but not to me he isn't!

I'm sorry I've been bitten twice....the first time was a food aggresive dog( he stole my cake!) he bite my ear. The other time I ran over to this dog to play but he didn't really like any dogs and he nipped my side..both we just minor flesh wounds. I hope your feeling better.

Wow, I'm so sorry about what happened, Holly! Wish I'd been there to protect you, I would've shown those big dogs a thing or two.....after all, I'm used to looking after my little "cousins", Aprillia and Valentino, and of course my girlfriend Axel. Unfortunately Axel is a feisty little thing who's always looking for trouble and picking fights, which means I have to go to her rescue all the time, so now I've got a reputation for being really mean and scary!
Ah well, at least my friends know I'm really a gentle giant who loves to play, but will do anything to protect those he loves. I'm extra vigilant now when I go walking in the park with Mum, because there's been all this stuff in the news about a bad man who attacks women in local parks, so if I see anyone who looks suspicious and comes too close when we're walking in the park together, I growl and show my fangs. I'm friendly with most humans, too, but I can sense it when someone has bad intentions! I'll always fight hard to protect my human family and my doggy friends.....and I'll gladly be your Knight In Hairy Armour, too!

OH NO! My post reads that you need to remember that all big dogs are mean. It should have said to remember that all big dogs are NOT mean. Now....that changes everything!!

Take care of yourself, take all your medicines and listen to your mom!
Hope this doesnt' make you really afraid of all big dogs now tho....some of them are super awesome! Hope your mom takes you to places where she knows the big dogs are really really sweet (after you are al lbetter of course!) and introduces you to them (course it might take some patience and extra treats and praise for you to feel ok about them).
The important thing to remember now is you are ok! Thank goodness!
