Long ago, before the husband, the cats and the kids, Mom saw me in a yucky, little pet shop and decided to hold me.  I decided that I was not going to go back in the yucky cage, no matter how hard they tried.  I was going home with her.  She couldn't bear to leave me there and 14 years later, here I am.

I have put up with a lot over the years.  The husband and the oldest kid I tolerate.  Frito, the first cat, I sort of adopted.  He's cool for a cat.  Pretty darned big too, but cool.  Man, I didn't like cats until I met him.  He was just a tiny baby then.  I used to let him ride my back down the stairs and let him sleep with me.  Hate to admit it, but I still like it when he sleeps with me.  The other two cats and the other two kids could have been lived without.  Don't know why we needed them.

I used to love being outside and playing tug of war with anything was the greatest.  I have something called congestive heart failure and bad knee joints, so I get tired a lot easier than I used to, but I still love my walks and still love being petted.  I don't hear so well anymore, so I make sure to stick close to Mom for my naps so that the little kid creatures don't plow me over. 

Although she can't admit it for fear of offending the rest of the family, I know mom likes me best.

I was found with my litter mates wandering around in the country and was taken to the local animal shelter.  There were lots of big, hyper puppies there and my brother, sister and I were getting picked on.  My sister was adopted first.  My brother and I were constantly passed over for the pretty, fluffy, floofy,puppies--but, that was about to change.  A couple showed up one day to, of course, see one of the "pretty puppies"--but, another of the pretty boys tried to shred the Dad Human.  Oddly enough, we had been their true choice all along--who knew?  The Dad liked my brother best (he was pretty laid back and lame--my brother, not the Dad )--but, the Mom seemed to like me best (I've heard since that she often favors the wild child in the bunch!), so I had to kick things up a notch.  I gave her my "wrinkled brow" look, a few licks on the nose, bit her earrings, and she was mine.  The Dad said I was probably a wild man--but, was clearly the best salesman at the shelter, so they chose me.

Things are pretty cool around here.  There are two little kids that can play tug of war for hours--sometimes they even wear me out!.  And there's one big kid that I can scare when I do my vicious hound growl.  It's pretty funny.  I like making her scream and squeal.  The humans are pretty cool too.  They have a crate for me--but, I have decided that I prefer Mom and Dad's bed.  They'll adapt.

There are 4 cats roaming around the house...of course, they are all still in semi hiding.  They come out at night when they think I'm asleep.  I like to play with them...but, the big one chases me, the fluffy, grey one swats me, and the mean white one looks like she's plotting the best way to tie my ears together...I'd like the little grey one, but she seems to have some phobia of the world.  They'll adapt.

I hear that Bear was the best dog ever, so I have some big paw prints to fill--but, I think I'm on my way because my humans think I'm pretty close to being the best dog ever too--and I share my name with the best cat ever from MCS--I have to have a shot!

I am the Spokesman and Chief Tasting Officer for Purrfectly Rebarkable Pets.  I am supposed to be getting my own blog page soon to yap about the toys and gifts that I help the humans discover and create.  It's going to be fun.  I'm pretty excited...of course, I get excited when it's "morning time"...and lunchtime..and dinnertime..and...well...I guess I'm a pretty excitable little man!

Right now I am all puppy--and the humans are still getting to know me.  I'm a pretty happy dog though.
