A little bit about me...Willow. If you see any spelling errors, just remember... my paws arent always accurate and spell check doesn't appear to be apart of this site. Bow.. wow... Im a cute ivory colored yellow lab. Im the third lab that has been a part of my famiy. Mom and dad had K.C. and Mandy first and so loved the breed they got me to help fill the void in their life after K.C. and Mandy passed on. They both lived to be 15 years old so I hope I'll be as lucky. Im the smallest lab too. I average about 58-60 lbs. Good eatting habbits I guess and lots of exercise. As I've been a head strong dog and a bit on the stuborn side, Mom and dad started following the teachings of Cesar Milan (The Dog Whisper) and are learning to be my pack leaders. Ya... like I really need one.. ruff ruff. The good part of this means I get a walk in every day for at least 3 miles. While I was getting the hang of "the walk" mom would put a back pack on me. Another suggestion from Cesar. It's not my favorite thing, but it really helped with my walking mood. Now that I do VERY well on my walks, I don't always use the back pack except for when I participate in our local city parades. My parents are into politics so they thought that with my walking in the parades it would be my way of showing support. Right now I support the State Rep for the House, for our district. I wear a sign over my back pack and I also wear red doggles. The kids just love me!!People will even stop me to take my picture. When the weather is bad I then walk on a treadmill for about 45 minutes. It's not too bad, but not nearly as interesting as a walk out side. I also get to go to Doggie Day Care from time to time so I can keep up on my socialization skills. It's an awesome place to go to. I even have access to a flat screen TV that shows doggie stuff on it. The place is called All Season's Canine Country Club in Corcoran, Minnesota. I like to hang out and do lots of sniffing outside. And yes.. I still get into trouble from time to time as Im so "nosey". Mom and dad and my brother Eric ( who doesnt live here anymore because's an adult now) all have loved dogs, so they created a really big back yard for me. Im not allowed outside of the yard (I'm not allowed to be a free roamer) unless Im with one of them on a leash. My play space is fenced in with 500 ft of 6 ft chain link fencing. We live in the country on 8 acres so the fence has to be high so deer can't jump in and join me. I've been trained to go potty in just one spot of the yard and when I have 'to go' I quickly zip over to my area. Mom's so impressed and just loves it because it makes poop patrol much easier. Now that Im about 2 1/2, Im begining to mellow out a little bit. Im looking forward to winter as I love to slide down our hill thats part of my play space, on my back. I start out with a run, then I flip myself over onto my back and weeeee... I slide down. If I start to slow down, I begin to wiggle by whole body around and it helps me to slide even further. Who needs a sled when I can do it that way. Woof... woof
