Oh poor me, I spent the first five months of my life in an animal shelter.  Then the rescue group took me to the vet and I was spayed (what exactly does that mean - mom won't tell me).

I spent a few days recuperating and then a nice lady came and took me to her house.  She was really sad because a dog named Sonnie had just died, and the other dog, Pearl, was sooooo lonely.  So my job was to cheer up everyone.

I did that real quick, and I managed to have some fun too, and that's my story.

I don't know how or why I got so lucky, but one day this past April I was just wandering the neighborhood and a nice lady stopped and checked my tags.  Oh yeah, I'd seen her lots before, she kept returing me to my owner and I kept escaping.  SO this time she kept me. 

My previous owner had enough my escapes and took the tag off my collar that had the address and phone number.  That way they figured no one would return me.

Anyhow, I live with Deborah now and she loves me even if I am a Houdini.  She keeps calling me an escape artist.  But she takes good care of me, and right off the bat she got my abcessed tooth extracted and nursed me back to health.

Here's how I repaid her kindness:  one day while she was at work I sunk my teeth into one of the fence slats and pulled and pulled until it snapped off.  Then I wedged myself through that skinny hole and took off for two weeks.  I guess Deborah was pretty mad, and she fixed the fence right off.  I was having a great time wandering around and fending for myself until someone grabbed me and called Deborah.  Oh well, I had two weeks of fun and freedom!!!
