There's a pretty big Japanese spitz community here, and I always like to see how much I look like them. My mom says that samoyed must have gotten to Japan thousands of years ago, and just like compact cars more recently, the Japanese downsized them to be more efficient!

This theory may or may not conform with people who really know about Japanese spitzes, but that's my mom.
