Chyna ~ so sorry to hear about Heidi.  Almost 19 years has to be some kind of a record, and certainly a testament to the quality of care and love Heidi received.

Awwww... so sorry!!!  It's such a relief to know she led a full and happy life, though the loss is always hard no matter what.  It's hard to offer comfort over the internet, if we were there Olie would scoop Chyna up into his paws and hold her and comfort her... I hope your family is coping.  I wish there was more we could say to make it better...

We would like to thank everyone for your kind words.  It is a comfort to know that everyone on this site shares in the feeling that our animals are more than just dogs ~ It is hard when they pass as they are a BIG part of our lives. We appreciate all the kind words.  Heidi did not suffer.  She passes in her sleep and she had a good long life.  She will be in our hearts always as she left us with 18 years of fond memories...  known in our neighborhood as  'the fasted short legged dog around'  she used to outrun her brother Berkley who was a black lab.

We are so sorry to hear about Heidi. Losing your dear friend is never easy. And I am bad at knowing what to say about these things. 18 years is a long and wonderful life - Heidi is lucky that she got to share it with you.
