Jack was the sire of a golden doodle puppy mill and was kept in a cage for the first 2 years of his life.  He was taken to a poodle rescue after he kept getting out of his cage and killing chickens.  I saw him on a poodle rescue site and fell for him quickly.  It took a lot of training to get him to understand me (he didn't know his name or any commands).  He is an amazing dog now.  I remember the day he first relaxed enough to smile. 

His penchant for catching birds continues to this day, as just this spring and summer, he's already caught 3 birds.  He does drop them on command, which is nice.  He lives with his buddy Magic who is a labrador retriever mix.  Before her, he lived with his other buddy Buster (brown standard poodle) who died 5-7-2007.
