greta's 5 pup
Today is a very memmorable day, Greta gave birth to 5 pups they are all male. Last night I noticed Greta feeling restless, she kept on walking and scratching the floor,also I noticed she prefered to stay under the cabinet,fortunately despite the time,my Vet was very nice and accommodating. I took her to the vet around 12 am and this morning she gave birth to the first pup. I am so happy and relieved that she is safe now.
I have Finally found a solution!
Alas!Finally I was able to find a solution for my problem regarding Buster's aggressiveness towards bathing. I decided to buy a muzzle. I was really desperate and didn't know what else to do. it has been almost a week since he took a bath, though he did not stink,I know that someday i will have to give him a bath otherwise it would be unhealthy for him not to. I seeked the help of a pet shop owner,I relayed to him my problem, afterall, after getting bitten by buster (which left a deep wound in my inner thigh) left me sleepless nights of thinking a strategy how to get him to bathe. I did not bare any grudge towards him because I know he just reacted instinctively for self defense. During bath I removed the muzzle and finally,my strategy worked and I was bite free!!
Greta's pregnant again
I don't know what to feel,should I be happy or sad. I am happy and excited because once again,Greta's pregnant, nonetheless, I feel sad and afraid for Greta,I don't want her to experience the painful delivery,fur shedding experience again.I love her so much to let her undergo such experience again.
to all daschund owners..
This afternoon,i was bitten by my dog buster. Actually this wasn't the first time he bit me,the first one was when he wanted to mate with Greta and,Greta being a mini had trouble taking him (because of his weight) I felt sorry for greta so I tried to stop him, so,he got mad and bit me, but I didn't get mad because I understand why he snapped. This afternoon,he bit me because I was trying to give him a bath and he hates bath, I decided not to proceed but unfortunately my foot slipped and i fell on him,he thought I was mad and was going to hit him so he bit me. I don't feel any anger towards him because he was just being defensive,although I don't hit him,you see I have four dogs and Buster being the father stands as the alpha male.I showed greta my wound and she kept snuggling me and just stood by my feet maybe she was trying to make it up for buster's fault. Nonetheless despite the angry reaction of buster towards taking a bath,he is a very lovable dog,he is potty trained and listens to me when I get mad but when anyone mention the word "bath" he turns into this monster. I don't know why. His aggressiveness started,when he got into a fight with our neighbor's dog. That certain dog use to bully him and growl at him everytime we go out and he just keeps on retreating as if avoiding the violence but one day, my cousin visited us,he brought his pug w/ him, we were all busy inside the house that we didin't notice his dog slipped through the opening of our gate. We just heard one of our neighbor screaming warning us that our neighbor's dog attacked my cousin's pug and it took shelter under the car, hiding from the viciuos dog. At that moment, when buster saw Chxy(Pug's name) under the car trembling in fear, he bolted out and attacked the vicious dog,and despite the height difference,the vicious dog got defeated and run home. My Mom picked up buster but he did not bite my mom. From then on I noticed buster became hot tempered.
I just want to ask all the daschund owners, if is it normal for a dog of their breed to hate bath? I have 4 daschund, but only buster display that kind of trait..all the other 3 does not get mad when I bathe them. Although,in buster's case even if he gets mad at the idea of taking a bath,he only growls before taking a bath especially when I carry him to the bathroom but during bathtime once I wet him with water,his anger subsides and he quietly and patiently waits as I finish giving him bath.
