CONGRATS DUKE!

I finally picked out a name to go with the italian theme for Duke's baby girl..its way simple but i decided to just name her Bella. Because im sure she is absolutely beautiful. So welcome to the world baby Bella!

Duke became a daddy last night! This puppy is luckily healthy. His "Mate" had one girl who was 1 pound 10 ounces! I might get to meet the pup in 3 weeks! =) Its a fawn just like her daddy.

update: Next weekend is when we get to go meet her! She is about 4 pounds apparently

Destiny leg trouble

Lately Destiny will just be walking and yelp. Then she will sit there and hold her paw up. I am kind of scared because i dont know whats wrong with her and after two dogs deaths the past 14 years i dont want it to happen again. I hope she is okay though. My dad just says let her rest and dont walk her. But she has been acting really weird too. She runs away from me and her ears are always back on her head.....im so worried.

UPDATE: Okay so my dad says he looked up the symptoms online and hes thinkin my Dede has hip displasia in her elbow or a pinched nerve in her shoulder or neck. Im not really sure but we dont think its bad enough to take her to the vet yet cuz last time something went wrong it cost 5 grand. He said the website is saying that she should be fine if she rests for a few months. So im not gunna let her walk for awhile (i know thats really bad) or put her in her kennel where she can jump around. So shes gunna be on "Lockdown" (thats hwat we call it ) Ill give updates!

Update 2: So according to the papers from the vet after she broke her leg 2 years ago, she has Degenerative Bone Disease in her elbow. Which is very upsetting for me because she isnt allowed on walks any more and needs to rest a lot. She needs lots of TLC which is what she will get deffinently. I feel so bad for my poor baby. I just want to be with her all the time. Im so afraid that she is gunna go to rainbow bridge though i know she will some day and she will be happy and young and she wont need the plates and screws in her leg and she can run with her brothers Rocky and Thunder and she can protect me. But the memories from Thunders passing are really hard for me. I still get upset thinking about them even though that was about 7 years ago. <3 I hope she is okay. I love you Destiny.

Update 3: Hey. Destiny is doing great! She has started going on walks again. Short walks but walks none the less. She doesn't seem like she is in pain any longer and im so relieved it didn't get worse. Thanks for your thoughts and kind words..it means a lot...

Update 4: Destiny has gone down hill..she could barely walk yesterday and would not stop heavily panting. She had to be locked in the crate to keep her from walking on the leg and we had to give her asprin. She is doing better today and she is getting around okay. We decided if he leg gets bad again we r going to have to stop ehr suffering and send her to rainbow bridge.....Destiny i love you so much and i need you here..your my best friend and i dont know what i would do without you...i know you have the strength to get through this but idk if u have the will to live...please try as hard as you can to pull through and if u cant i want you to know i will alaways love you Destiny...you will always be the number one dog in my heart and i know you will always be watching over me. If you can't pull through girl..if u can't bare it..please let go, i won't be mad and i guarentee you will be happy where your going...Im so proud of you for being such a great dog no matter what and always watching over me even if you know you dont have to...I could never have another dog that has such an amazing will to protect and keep me out of harms way and i know even after your gone the legecy of destiny will go on and the whole neighborhood will remember how much you ment to me and how much i did to keep you halthy and happy..i can't say it enough...I love you Destiny..forever.

Update 5: Wow my dog is definently determined! Thank god! As soon as putting her down comes into the subject she gets better! Lately she is doing really good (hopefuly this wont jinx it) No walks or going in te outdoor kennel where she can jump. She is strating to gain a little weight back but shes always been really skinny so that doesnt surprise me. She is getting less and less shy. She gets an asprin every night. So over all she is comming back up and giving her all to stay. Hopefully it will only get better from here. I love you Destiny!

Update 6: We noticed another thing with Destiny that may be causing her a little bit of discomfort. She has a large (bout the size of a quarter) rough spot on her elbow. From laying in her crate all day. We are using extra carpet and putting it in the bottom of the cage so she will be more comfy but otherwise everything is all good =) I put up a video of her and it says Thanks For All Your Kind Thoughts at the end but its hard to hear sooo thank you all so much! You mean a lot to us <3

Destiny In Dog Fight 8/19/08

My neighbors Hve a large 150 ib german shepherd. When Destiny was a puppy it came out and attacked her.

Deja vu

I was walking dede today at 5:30 and a small child was holding the leash of the large shepherd. The kid couldnt hold on and the dog lunged out at Destiny. Charging at her like a rampaging bull. Seeing the dog comming and knowing that he has a 80 ib advantage i starting screaming get back. When he lunged to attack her i kicked it in the ribs...i know it sounds mean to do but i was just trying to protect my dog...does that seem mean?

Gah luckily neither was hurt except im a bit shaken on account its the second time its happened in the past 5 years...i really dont think little kids should be holding big dogs by themselves..there wasnt evena parent around. This kid was like 6.

Update:

Hey guys. Sad news. That shepherd that attacked my Dede is no longer here. I walked by today and the old owner of the dog was asking if her children could pet my dog. I advised her that it wouldnt be a good idea...and that i wished she was friendlier. She replied that she understood and that they no longer have their dog for that reason. While a thought of relief came over my mind i also felt bad that the kids who live there lost their dog. I know this probably isnt for me to say but i hope they dont get another dog after seeing how this dog had acted. Also a lot of curiosity drifted through my mind..wonmdering how the dog went or what happened that made them either give it up or put it down.
