Gorilla Warfare!
Buster: Green gorilla is my favorite toy! I love to hold it in my mouth and run around while Shooz and Pistache chase me. Then I stop and set it in front of me to tease Pistache. When she tries to grab green gorilla, I snatch it away and the chase begins again. The problem is, Pistache thinks she owns green gorilla and everytime she gets her paws on him, she abuses my poor little green gorilla! But I have a secret green gorilla is hidden, I buried him in the fluffy blanket on my bed. Pistache will never find him there!!! Green gorilla is mine forever!!!
Pistache: I must find green gorilla!!! I left it on the couch last night where I was helping Shooz with her computer. I always walk on the keyboard and I know she loves it because she gets so excited when she sees all the words I type (my favorite is 'bvhhhhhhhhhhhh'). But back to green gorilla, Buster is always stealing my green gorilla and he doesn't even know how to play with it. Green gorilla is meant to be squeaked and that's what I do. I hold it in my mouth and 'squeak, squeak, squeak....' all day long. But now green gorilla is missing and I suspect Buster had something to do with it!
Buster is awesome!!!
Hi! Its me, Pistache! I thought I was going to have so much trouble when I first came to live with Shooz and Buster. It was overwhelming, the thought of having to train a person and a dog. But I soon found out that Buster had already done a great job training Shooz! Buster, on the other hand, still has a few things to learn, like I get first pick for everything. And he does not respect my personal property! Can't he understand that everything is mine now? All the toys, treats, doggie beds, everything!!! And that includes the green gorilla! He is constantly taking my things and hiding them. After weeks of searching, I finally found green belly mouse buried in a flower pot!
But one thing I have to give Buster credit for is teaching me about midnight walks. He is a genius!!! He can get Shooz out of bed at any time of the night, no matter how late or how sleepy she is, she will take us out. Midnight walks are the best!!!!
diarrhea stinks!!!
Pistache and I have both been sick with you-know-what and it has not been fun!! We didn't even feel like chasing each other or fighting over the green gorilla or taking midnight walks. All we could do is poop and sleep. Yesterday, Shooz brought us both to the vet and they gave us some meds and we are finally feeling better. We even wrestled a little bit this morning. Now, I just need to figure out where Pistache hid the green gorilla and we can get back to business as usual.
Update: Duck Poo
Pistache did it!!! She ate some duck poo!!! Shooz freaked before I could get a bite but Pistache was successful. And from the looks of it, duck poo is pretty tasty stuff. Pistache gobbled down that bite so fast, Shooz had no hope of retrieving any of it. Of course, we have not been walking anywhere near the pond since, even though I keep trying to lead Shooz in that direction. But I know she will forget soon then I will get my chance to try again. I can't help myself, I'm just a curious little dog.
Garbage Day
I love garbage day!!! I used to hate it, all those bags and cans outside, they looked so menacing. I would bark at all of them. Ok, I still bark at them, I have to. But they smell sooooo good!!! And the best part is after the garbage men come, there is usually garbage everywhere. It's a good thing they are sloppy because I love all the stuff they drop for me. Used paper napkins, bits of food, smelly wrappers and today I even found a chicken bone. It was so awesome! Well, it was awesome until Shooz freaked and took it away and marched us back inside. I have decided when I grow up I want to be a garbage man (and Pistache too!).
I love my dog!!!
I love Pistache!!! It's so awesome having my own dog! We play all the time!!! It 's not so bad when Shooz goes to work now. We just play and nap and eat and nap and play and play some more then Shooz comes home and we take a walk and eat and play and sleep. Shooz was right.....having a dog is the best thing ever!!!
Big News!!!
Shooz is always telling me how awesome it is to have a dog. So, I decided to get one-- a little girl named Pistache. And guess what?!? It is not awesome!!! Its the worst thing that has ever happened to me! She acts like she owns Shooz, can you believe that? My own little dog trying to steal my person away. After all that time I've spent training Shooz, Pistache comes in and just takes over. I've tried it explaining it to her, but she doesn't listen; all she does is growl at me. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that she is also a thief! She keeps stealing my toys!! Maybe I can convince Shooz to bring Pistache to jail.
Squirrels!
Have any of you dogs out there ever caught a squirrel? I saw one yesterday on my walk. It was just hanging out in the grass. I chased it but that sneaky little devil ran up a tree and mocked me. I know I could have caught him if it wasn't for Shooz hanging on to the end of my leash. She really slows me down! I'm not sure what I would do with a squirrel, but I really NEED to catch one. It's all I can think about now, besides people food and walks and treats and playing and sleeping with Shooz and getting petted and chasing leaves. I hope I see a squirrel today so I can try again. Oh yeah, I would also like to catch a bird. No luck yet, but I"ll keep trying.
Finally.....
The weather is finally decent again. It could be a little warmer, but it's way better than before. We have green grass again and sunshine and I don't have to wear my coat anymore. No more snow and ice! And I can find my potty spot right away now. Do you have any idea what it is like to find your favorite potty spot when it is covered by two feet of snow? My paws freeze before I can even get around to taking care of business. I think winter is finally gone forever and I hope it never comes back!
Winter was so long, I was afraid Shooz would forget all of her warm weather training. During the winter, when Shooz would grab my leash, I hid under the chair. No way was I going out there to potty on the ice. But now that its warm again, I have to ask Shooz to take me out all the time. I don't really need to 'go' every 30 minutes, but I want to go outside and sniff stuff. So, I scratch Shooz on the leg and tell her that I need to go out immediately and guess what? She falls for it every time! Yesterday, when she came home from work, I managed to get 3 very long walks and that's not including our midnight walk. I'm so proud of Shooz, she's remembered all of her training...and I didn't even have to give her a treat! Now, if i could just get her to stop hogging the bed...
Training Update
Hello friends,
As you may remember I've been working very hard on training Shooz ever since I moved in with her. I am happy to report the training has been a huge success.
Sharing my bed with Shooz is much better, she now understands that I get to choose my spot first and that I get to choose another spot whenever I like, I usually take her spot because it's always pre-warmed. How does she do that? She also is much better at belly rubs in a semi-concious state, I just barely nudge her hand and she gets right to it.
I've also been successful at teaching Shooz about my territory in the living room. She now realizes that I own the entire floor and everything on it, the chair, ottoman and couch. I do share the couch with her sometimes, after all she does feed me and take me for walks. I've also taught Shooz a new trick. Its called 'The Bridge" and its my new favorite place to take a nap. When Shooz sits on the couch, I jump up on her lap and scratch her leg. It didn't take her long to realize what that means, she stretches her legs out and rests her feet on the coffee table and there's my bridge. Its the most comfortable place to nap!
My latest project is to get on the dining table. It's still exclusively Shooz territory. I've never ever been up there. Even though Shooz sometimes gives me little tastes of the things she is eating at the table, I would like to get up there and investigate for myself. I've been trying to jump up, but its too high. But I'm not giving up yet, one of these days I'll figure out how to get up there.
Training a people is not easy but its definitely worth it!
