The newest member to our family!

Gibson is a doll to say the least. He's a very mellow laid back sweet-pie. He's been w/ us now for almost 2 weeks & has only had 1 accident in the house. He's very smart & knows what toys are his & what toys are not. He's always at our feet curious to see what's going on. He loves Gunny & especially Dougan. He plays well w/ the kids too. I just can't say enough good things about him! He's such a loving & yet very proud boy.

Lil' Mr. (Gibson is a mismarked fawn mantle. (He is the only mismarked one in a litter of 10.) Which still leaves his breeder scratching her head. His mother is a mantle & father a harlequin. Going back 5+ generations now we can't quite figure out how he came about. It is an on-going investigation. However, he comes to us a "PET ONLY" home. So, there isn't much left for us on that subject. (He is currently not fixed ... but, will be after his 2nd B'day to ensure he reaches his full size.) NO ... we are in no way interested in breeding him. "Please" do not ask. Just know that he's a bit unusual for the Dane standard & will be loved & spoiled here with us.

Dougan is our rescue baby. He came to use from the "WORST" Great Dane Rescue I have ever seen or worked with in California. He was given to us covered with fleas & ticks, had kennel cough, pnemonia, & worms. The 1st 72hrs with him where scarey & unsure. He pulled through & since then has turned out to be our most indistructable to date. LOL!

Dougie "had" a serious case of seperation anxiety & would distroy anything & everything in sight. This includes: digging holes in our walls, chewing up cabinets, ripping up carpet, eating rocks, chewing stucko off our house, shredding patio furn., & is an expert at breaking out of crates ... I could go on forever.

After he turned 2 Dougan was like a new dog. Though he still cries & barks for a short period after we leave. Dougan no longer distroys things or even tries to get out of his crate. As a matter of fact, he is usually found snoozing away in there during the day when the door is left open.  

We've learned a lot from Dougie & it was a long hard road but, we wouldn't change a thing!  ;0)

- To Snuggle

- Puppies

- To play fetch!!!

- To get a belly rub

- To go for walks

- To chase rabbits

- To Sleep

- Playing rough w/ Daddy

Dougan's dislikes:

- Baths

- Water

- Cameras

- Being left alone

- Not being allowed on furniture

- Having to Share his Kong

Mama's Dislikes: People who breed because they want a puppy. People who breed & couldn't even tell you what that breeds standards are or what they should look like. People who will breed their pet to anything for some extra cash. People who think their the exception to the rule! ((I did rescue for yrs & Dougan is from a rescue)). PEOPLE LEAVE THE BREEDING TO THE EXPERTS!!! Don't think that just because you have a pet that, that makes you qualified to make more! GGGGGGgggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
