Diesel
This is Diesel, he is Nigel and Lilly's brother/littermate. I had to take his owner to court to try and get him back because she let him deteriorate to this condition. She had taken him to the vet for shots and to be neutered, but not to find out why he looked like this. Diesel and his siblings were in foster care with us and they were all placed on contracts. I had her sign the contract when she took him and it outlined everything. She initialed each paragraph and then signed the entire contract. She told me she understood the contract and agreed to it, but when I asked for the return of Diesel, she refused, so we went to court. The judge didn't agree with me what "vet care" was, so she got to keep him and shortly after she began toting around her new mastiff puppy. In my gut, I feel that Diesel is dead.
Good owners are hard to find, look at these pictures of what a promised "good home" turned out to be and then ask yourself if you would want one of your dog's puppies to end up like this. If there ever is a "next time" I am considering having the contract signed in blood - sad but I don't even think would be enough to protect the poor innocent dogs that end up in bad human's homes. The law doesn't even protect them. If that would have been a child, someone would have been able to do something.
It is heartbreaking.

this is extremely horrible. I hope diesell is okay and the wretched woman should get what she deserves. I feel what goes around comes around. She shouldn't be allowed to have any animals. She is worst then anything in the world.She should be reported to animal control.

That is horrible,and inhumane and heart breaking,she is not fit to have any animal let alone a child,I wish the law would come down really hard and tough on these people,they always seem to turn a blind eye to people like that,but i'm sure those people would not like to be treated like that,I hope Diesel will be o.k,and that you get him back,i'm so sorry..

That is so terrible. Diesel will be in my prayers to get well. I hope the court gave her the maximum punishment for this. What kind of heartless human being would do that to a dear animal?!?! I am glad you got him back. Take care and God bless,

What a heartbreaking photo. It's hard to imagine that a judge could look at it and say the dog should stay where he is. I wish someone could starve the owner until she looked like this, or at least until she understood what real hunger is.

This is sick and disgusting. There is no punishment harsh enough, anyone who would do this to an animal would do the same to a human. I hope she rots in H...!

I'm so sorry to see this... it's horrible! Um, DUH! Vet care means when you're dog looks like this, you take him to the vet to find out why! I don't have to be a judge to know that! I hope the mastiff is OK, and if Diesel is at Rainbow Bridge, then he is in a better place. I can't believe any judge would think a dog that looks like that is OK- and I especially can't believe the owner! It's heart breaking. I will also say a special prayer for Diesel. Poor thing.

It doesn't sound harsh at all, not to me and I am sure Diesel wouldn't think so either. She is a wretched woman and has no business having dogs or children. Funny thing to me is that her kid has failure to thrive too.

Oh that's the awful....I just want to reach out and grab Diesel and never let go! He didn't deserve this and that woman should be made to suffer like Diesel. I know that sounds harsh but if you feel it's ok to treat your "beloved" pet this way then it should be good enough for you, too! If Diesel is gone...he's at Rainbow Bridge...happier and healthy and not hurting anymore. We'll say a special prayer for him tonight!

omg that is awful so very awful. Brings tears to my eyes that people could be so cruel like that. I am so sorry for poor Diesel, he doesn't deserve that!
