The Child Whisperer
While my mom was taking me for a walk, we were heading home, and I heard a little girl say "doggy." Me being a people and child lover had to stop to get attention. Mom asked the little girl and her mom if she wanted to pet me, and the little girl said yes. I was all excited and started squirming, and the little girl backed off, so mom had to hold me so the girl would pet me. She was giving me tiny pets, and the girl's mom says "I'm so proud, you've never pet a dog before!" The mom was giving the girl high fives and as it turns out, the little girl has a huge fear of dogs and runs away whenever she sees one and she's never pet a dog before. I couldn't let her keep that fear, so I let her pet me some more. Then, since I'm such a good boy on my leash, mom let the little girl walk me! Her mom was so excited that she took a picture of her walking me. My mom was proud of me too, because she thinks it's a sad thing when children are afraid of dogs. I told mom, nobody is afraid of me, I'm too cute!

Way to go Toby! The fact that you broke down the wall of fear that little girl had built says so much. I know your mom is a physical therapist. Have you ever considered being a therapy dog?

Thank you for sharing this. What a wonderful story, and what a wonderful thing you and your mama did! I love the name Child Whisperer! You certainly did affect this child for the rest of her life, she will always remember her first doggie...and the love and pride she felt from her mum.
Blessings!
