We adopted Rudy shortly after putting our almost 17 yr old lab shepherd to sleep. Rudy (orig named Zeus, then Auggie)...came from the J'ville, FL area, by MDS member, Aussie6pk! Rudy was found tied to a fence at an elementary school.
A6pk said, "Ya know, these aussies are like potato chips, ya can't have just one". I thought, "Right, you crazy lady". Four more dogs, later....we often tell Rudy, if he wasn't such a great guy, no others would be here.
Rudy is a happpppppy boy, always ready to go. He and Lacey are the "sport dogs".
He hates fireworks and loud noises.

Chloe was a former backyard breeder, who was surrendered to the shelter in J'ville, FL, after all three of her pups died. Her own life hung by a thread, at a scant 23 lb. We agreed to foster her. She had never eaten from a bowl, been in a home, and was afraid of us and even her two brothers. She made it through dangerous heartworm treatment, then spay, and she was ours. The following year she was Miss Sept on the nat'l aussie recue calendar (at 47 lb). She is a living testament to the power of patience, love, good food and vet care!

Jackpot was surrendered to me on the turnpike, in between hurricanes Frances & Jean. He was "too much dog" for his third owner. Prior to that he had been raised by a lovely young girl, whose stepfather said he shed too much & took him back to the breeder (after she had him for over a year). We have been in touch! I had five prospective homes lined up for this 80lb puppy. One by one they fell thru. I thought, God means Jack to stay here. High contrast colors, with lots of silly expressions, Jack models. His first job was for the BACK of a bus, for "Real Men Neuter Their Dogs" campaign. He is in training (mostly learning to control his impulse to do what he wants, WHEN he wants)! We are planning our CGC test for the fall, so he can do AAT (animal assisted therapy) like his brother, Mack.

Hiya Pack, Did you all have a great fourth? I did, I heard my first fireworks ever and I wasn't scared at all. Buddy seemed to have a tough time, he stayed in the inside dog house except when food came out. My owner said that he did better this year then last so I guess some progress is better then none.

Our weekend got better. We just came in from a loooong swim, and we are very tired but in a wonderful way. Guess the fact that I (Zack) got stinky worked. To tell the truth I don't like to be stinky, but it got us in the pool today and now I'm not stinky anymore.
That's so cool that you got to see otters. We have never seen one. You are also lucky that you got to chase ducks. Our mom is way too over-protective.

Hi Aussiebelts. How is your weekend? Ours has been boring far. Well, not entirely boring because we have played quite a few indoor games, but we haven't been swimming since Wednesday, and we didn't swim much the last week. First we got a bath instead of swimming last Sunday, then no swimming Monday cause we looked and smelled too good, then swimming Tuesday and Wednesday, then grooming Thursday (hello we had just had a bath on Sunday), then no swimming on Friday cause we looked and smelled too good, then no swimming yesterday because it was raining all afternoon. The smelling too good isn't a problem anymore as I (Zack) managed to roll in enough things to be rewarded with an "Ewww you stink" at bedtime last night. 
The plan today is to make sure we get in the pool before the afternoon rains come.
