I was found in April 2007 wandering around a housing development without a collar. I went to the pound for a brief period of time and then went to a rescue group. Sue and Lea met me in May 2007 and it was love at first sight. All I had to do was turn on the charm and they were sold!
I had a little bit of trouble with housebreaking and walking on a leash at first, but everything was so new to all of us. I slept a lot those first 3 weeks or so, but I learned to trust them and even like them. They take me to doggie day care every day and make sure that I am happy and healthy.
I also have school everyday. I learn new things to do with a clicker marking behaviors to repeat. Clicker training also teaches me to get creative during our training sessions. I recently started playing around with an exercise ball (jumping on it, pushing it, etc.) and I got treats just for playing. Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between learning and playing--it is just that much fun!
We go to the dog park on Saturday and Sunday mornings where I play with my buddies and run around until all of my sillies are out of me.
I need a little help chilling out whenever someone comes over to our house. I'm still learning that people are good and that my mommy will not let anyone hurt me.

Hey Riley- thanks. I just told Mom and she says she thinks she knows it. She sometimes cuts thru the King Farm to get to one of the other Buildings for her work or to go to Best Buy and she sees the park on the right. (But she didn't know there was a dog park in there). She says everything is so built up back there. When she was a little girl, the King Farm was really a farm, and the road she works off of, Gude, used to be a dirt road when she was a little girl. Maybe one day when we go to get my Uncle Charlie, we'll stop and check it out.

Hey Riley, you looked like you were having a ball, no pun intended jumping up on your ball. My grandma and grandpa and my Mommy used to live in Rockville. My Mommy still works there and drives everyday. Mommy asked me to ask you where there's a dog park in Rockville? She's pretty familiar with the area and she didn't know there was one.

Thanks for being my friend Riley! I really love taking my humans hiking at the Greenbelt on Staten Island... I even get to bring my own stuff in my backpack! I hope you are having fun in Maryland! I have a cousin there... she is a St. Bernard! You are a handsome guy!

Hi Riley.... Do you learn clicker stuff at school? We don't......we mainly play all day but sometimes my favorite camp counselor brings bubbles and we study those as they land on our noses. Do you get report cards? I get them every day. I always get straight A(s) because I cuddle with the camp counselor a lot (heh heh). Hope you are having a great one!
