Dog Blog: Great Summer Dog Day!

Daisy and Tuco had a super day outside! Dad came home for lunch and a quick swim before it was back to work, and Tuco was all for it. Daisy was laying in the shade panting, and I felt bad, so I filled the kiddie pool for her. I picked Tuco up and threw him to my dad in the pool and Tuco loved every minute of it! He swam in circles all around the pool and splashed and barked at the pool toys, but Daisy was still so hot and wouldnt go in the kiddie pool. I didn't know what to do  My dad and I both decided not to lift her over the side of our pool, because she's too heavy and I didnt want to drop her while passing her to him. Plus, she had never swam with us before so we didnt know if she even knew how or would like it. I felt so bad for her, so I finally just lifted her with all my might and passed her gently and slowly to my dad. She immediately got this horrified look on her face, so she obviously was never in a pool before, but she DID know how to swim a little bit. I sat on the ladder (which we would use instead of passing the dogs over the side but its not like stairs, its like a real ladder) and called her name and dad swam next to her to make sure shed be okay. She was so happy afterwards and I was happy too because she was finally cool. Then after drying off, they both came in the house and slept all day. What dogs!
