I'm a rescue dog too that was listed as a mixed breed, and I am curious. My Mommy says she will get a doggy DNA breed ID test run on me, when she saves up her pennies ( whatever that means ) Anyhow, you're b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l just the way you are.  Curly

I just looked at the pics again- looking at her from the front, those strong shoulders do almost look pit-like!  I've just never seen a dog with such huge ears, proportionate to the size of the body!

My first thought was there's some boxer in there... Olie has a good friend that's a boxer/husky mix, coloring is different, but other than that, there are a LOT of similarities- I'll get some pics and show you- the black snout, the body shape and size, and Tidus has spots on his tongue also.  Oh yeah- but only 1 of his ears stand up .  He has one boxer ear and one husky ear.  The one that stands up is still not as big as Spiffy's though...

I've added a couple of new pics of her.

The spots on her tongue are black, no purple at all. She weighs about 45-50 lbs. She isn't very big. I'll see if I can get a better body picture of her. She doesn't like the camera much

Much to people's surprise MANY breeds have spots on their tongues...are they truly purple or just dark?How much does Spiffy weigh? We are often asked for breed id, but would like to make a good guess, so please tell us whatever info you can. There are also alot of dogs with @#$% ears, but not many that have the size that Spiffy has. What a unique looking dog....very cool!!

I thought she was part german shepherd when I first saw her. I guess only Spiffy knows and she's not tellin'! Yes, they do have DNA testing nowadays for dogs. Amazing, huh??
