Hello~

My name is Sophyra, and as everyone will tell you, I am the most beautiful dog ever! Between my unusual Merlequin color, ice blue eyes and natural ears, I sure bring a lot of attention everywhere I go. Just yesterday I found two puppies new adoption homes from walking around with me ~ yes, I like to use my looks for the common good. Also, my Gramma rescued a little guy this weekend! So, needless to say, I've been very busy and snoring extra loud during my bedtime. I am almost a whole year old! There are plans for a birthday party for me and my sister (she lives just up the road with another nice lady). People don't really think we're related. See, she's a healthy, huge, Harl with cropped ears. I have had some issues with my stomach that have stunted my growth so I look ALOT smaller than my sister, but I'm trying to catch up now that my people have found the cause (hopefully!). Also, I happen to be deaf ~ not that it affects me in any way, but people seem to find it interesting that a human would knowingly take in a deaf dane. Ah, well, I still graduated first in my Obedience class and can't wait to continue after my belly feels good all the time. And, Mom says she can't imagine ever having a hearing dog after me...I'm a good watcher, she says. And, I don't wake up just because someone is walking across the hardwood floor. Yes, I'm perfect in every way if you ask her. I think she may be right....

We went to the vet yesterday (5/25) for a check up. I haven't been feeling too good at all. I still act fine ~ playing and jumping and pushing Petey around, but my stomach is just NOT agreeing with any treatments. So we started a new food today (for my birthday, great) and new meds. Mom took me shopping for my birthday to get our minds off the fact that there's not a whole lot left to try for this unknown issue. Monday we hope to hear from our internal specialist. He's an Advate, too. We really have our paws crossed that between him and the vet, we can come up with an answer that will work soon...

Hey, my name is Petey. I was one of five with my Dad. He died last year and I went to live with his son. His wife wouldn't let me in the house though. So I lived outside in Chicagoland through this awful winter. Well, they decided I should go to a shelter, but this nice lady said I was too old and she'd love to me my new mom. So I was really sad at first but now I can't wait to see her every day and I get to sleep in bed with her. I live with Sophyra. She's a big baby and I like her most of the time, but she annoys me a lot too. I don't really play with people or dogs or toys, but I am one happy fellow! I like Abi, but Mom is my favorite and I whine when she leaves me. I go to daycare with Soph everyday and its going well. I get to play a lot outside and get lots of treats. I'm as healthy as they come, the doctor said, so that's definitely the opposite of Sophyra. I like my new home and will be here forever.

6.8.08 GOOD NEWS!

Quick background...when I picked Jr. up to foster him another girl was very sad because she wanted to foster him, but they said that she had tried and brought a dog back 2 days later. SO~ after he got his fluids and is back on his feet now, she adopted him! :) I'm so happy that she got him! She was in love with him and now he has a home. He has 2 big brothers now. One 2-legged. And another Pit. He already has made his mark and is back to being bossy so they renamed him - Chuck Norris Jr.

Hi! For now my name is Junior...but that won't last! I am being fostered here with Sophyra and Petey. I came home today. Abi couldn't let me stay there. I have demodex and strangles so no one wants me yet. I'm only 9 weeks old so I can't be adopted for a while anyhow. Abi thinks I'm adorable. I am a brindle (minus the scabs which have me very bald right now). I have quite the attitude. Sophyra loves it because we have played for the past 3 hours! She lays down and lets me jump all over her. It also gives Petey a break from the nutsiness of a Dane puppy. I have a massive goiter on my throat from the strangles. Again, Abi thinks its adorable. I am going to have a blast here ~ I can tell already. Another plus is I am already potty-trained! Can you even believe it? Now, don't let me stand near the door for more than 6 seconds. I'm still a baby and will have an accident but I try hard!

A little background...I am a member of the Chicagoland Bully Breed Rescue group. I was found wandering the streets in Ohio at 5 weeks old. Now I'm getting better and will be up for adoption soon!

UPDATE: I tried this yesterday...I hope it works today! Well, Quigley stuck. Mr. Wiggly Quigley. I went to the vet and was a very good boy. Everyone loves me~ and I'm sooooo cute is all I hear!

Today Jr. Quigley is finally going home from the hospital. He fought really hard and luckily has made it this far. Since Sophyra has lots of medical issues and so does he, they can't be in the same house, so he's going to another foster home. I am very sad as this little guy is so fantastic, but its the best interest for both of them.

I started a forum for him. Today Quigs had to go to the hospital. He has Parvo. The rescue is doing everything it can, but really needs help paying for this treatment. Here is the link, if anyone can help:

MORE GOOD NEWS! Last night Chulo was offically adopted last night :) His new parents are wonderful! He's now a big city dog with lots of new dog-friendly places to go. I know its a great fit. He is everything they wanted and they are everything I wanted. I couldn't ask for a better forever home for my Chug-a-chug-a-CHULO!

Well, we couldn't bring home Junior and leave just one! So now to round out the pack is Chulo. He's white with tan spots. At 16 weeks, he is also potty trained! Gotta love it! He actually was in the bathtub when we decided to bring him home too, but he'll be here tonight!

I'm a little sassier than Jr. but an alpha dog put me in my place so now I'm feeling a little skittish. Hopefully Sophyra will give me a break my first few days here :)

Also from the Chicagoland Bully Breed Rescue, Chulo will be available for adoption! He was born into the Rescue by a momma who came to us already pregnant. He was hand-raised and loves people!

UPDATE: I am so NOT shy! I love to be the instigator and then hide behind people :) I am a very HAPPY puppy. Its a lot of fun to be around here. Hopefully, I'll find my forever home soon so I can bring all my love and happiness while I'm still a baby!
