THANK YOU TO ALL YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE ♥

I just want to say that i am so thankful for all the beautiful pics and graphics and words of kindness, and just everything.  This is a very hard time not only for me but for Jason's dad because he was the one who got Penny 16 years ago and that dog was family.  The whole community here is doing everything they can to help us get through this.   I must say that i am trying to start a way to make the govener here know that after 5pm they need to have a way to come get strays not just if it's an emergency.  I do not blame thoese dogs.  They were so skinny and hungry and god i felt so bad for them.  But we are filing charges on the owners who went and picked up the dog.  I could not find one place that would come out to pick the animals up and hold them for however long they needed to be to avoid this.  I don't want anyone to ever go thru what Darian and I witnessed.  Something must be done and i am so tired of people saying well they were pitts.  that is like saying people of certain color are the ones who commit crime.  GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!  I refuse to believe that.  And I will not.  People who kill people get out of jail and kill again but dogs that kill get put to sleep so where is the justice in that.  The crime is equal.  If anyone has any ideas please e-mail me at dianethirkell@gmail.com  we need a solution so no other animal is hurt or not taken care of properly.  I know i cannot change it all but i have to do something in Penny's memory.  She did not die in vain. She was the sweetest little dog who was scared of lighting and would hide under our blankets or snuggle up next to us at night and loved to steal all my blankets that were microfiber, and her little footsteps coming up the stairs.  When we first moved in the door was left open and we shut it thinking she was inside and awhile later i heard a little tiny bark and it was her sitting on the front porch.  She was my child and i will make a difference i have to so please any and all ideas will help.  Animals don't have a voice.  So we have to speak for them!!!

i am gonna post a blog today or tomorrow i would like for you to come read.  it will be a bout my experiences i have had over the last couple yrs pertaining to how i believe diferant places set their own rules and regulations when it comes to animals(thier behavior, roaming, and cruelty).  I use to be a vet tech,  I use to rescue and to some extent still do. i love dogs.  but i have lived here 5 yrs and in the past 3 yrs have HAD TO put 4 dogs to sleep.  Needless to say the blog will probably be rather long and as detailed as possible.  I am wanting to actually open a shelter in my area due to how lapsed the system is here.

Diane- I have a horror story of my own from several years back, and found out myself that the laws are just another set of horrors regarding animal rights, etc. I decided then and there to drop a very lucrative career and to become an attorney specializing in animal law. I wrote to a renowned animal law attorney, Sonia Waisman (her email is SWaisman@mofo.com) and she urged me to join ALDF (animal legal defense fund, www.aldf.org). It will keep you in the loop on animal law developments (and it's not just for lawyers). Look into it. I know how you must be feeling, and though I do not know you, be proud that in your grief you want to make a difference. Cherie

People who starve their dogs should be punished. My neighbors take terrible care of their dogs. I seen them die, wander around without a real home and tied to a tree day to day with no attention. No one will help the situation. Those dogs could have been any type of dog, they were hungry and not trained, that is all there was to it.

Do you have othe communities you belonf yo? Spread the word, something can come of it!

Good luck and I will se4e what is out there.

Well said! If there is anything we can do to help the cause, e-mails, phone calls, ect., all you gotta do is give us the contact info and we will be glad to help. Hope they prosecute the owners, sounds like the dogs were in a bad situation to start with. With owners like that we will never see a solution to the pit problem. They ARE the problem. And bad owners like them make it a world harder for responsible pit owners like mygrammy!! Keep us updated and stay strong! Luv, Blaze

This is so moving and inspirational my mom is crying. Yes, the problem isn't that those dogs are pit bulls, but that humans would treat any kind of dog that way.
