My Dogs

Birthday: March 17, 2003
Breed: German Shepherd
Size: Giant
Nickname: Boo
From: Rescue Foster Home
Home Date: March 18, 2008
Chloe is a lovely, long-haired, purebred German Shepherd Dog with the prettiest face imaginable. She is very sweet, shy, and gentle; she loves other dogs, cats, kids, and people, and has such good manners. She was rescued last November (2007) from a bad backyard breeder after spending 5 years in a cage having puppies. She was in a foster home until March 2008, when I adopted her.
Chloe was diagnosed with heartworm (and urinary tract infection AND she was in heat...poor baby) when I adopted her, and she underwent the Immiticide treatments and antibiotics for the UTI and the heartworm larvae over the last two months. She seems to be doing well, and we're almost out of the woods. Once she gets the all-clear from the vet on the h/w condition, I can have her spayed. The vet wouldn't spay her until the heartworms were dead, because she is a high anesthesia risk with heartworm.
This is my dream dog; I couldn't have created a dog that I love more. Her eyes could melt the coldest soul.
Our new command is "Don't step on the cats!!" because when I come home from work, she gets so excited and starts bounding around the living room like a horse, and woe to the cats under her feet! She has a great respect for the cats otherwise, and sometimes thinks they are her puppies, I think.
She is so affectionate and loving, and very, very intelligent. She's intuitive and can figure anything out that she sets her mind to. She is still very shy and has a long way to go with trusting people, but she's secure and confident with me and that's a great start. I can't remember what life was like without her.

Hi Pack,
Every Friday is "Dog Whisperer" with Cesar Millan Day!
5th Season begins Oct. 10 at 8P et/pt on the Nat Geo Channel
Cesar returns in the premiere of his long-awaited 5th season! French Bulldog Bozley has had rules, boundaries, and limitations from day one, but that hasn't stopped him from developing a tenacious form of dog aggression! Owners Nidia & Sean Tatalovich have called in Cesar to give this Frenchie a lesson in hospitality. Next up, not even careful research could prepare Regina and Steve Risseeuw for their terrified Vizsla. Can Cesar help this dog on the run?
"Seg 77 Tenacious B Nidia & Sean Tatalovich saw a picture of French Bulldog Bozley on a breeders website and it was love at first sight. Sean is no stranger to dogs, but Nidia had never owned a dog before Bozley. They decided Bozley should be given boundaries from day one. He is not allowed to sleep in bed with them and he is crate trained. But six months and one dog trainer later, the little Frenchie started showing some attitude toward other dogs. He seemed really anxious in dog parks and bullied the other dogs. Now, two years and another trainer later, Sean and Nidia are at the end of their leash. Bozleys canine animosity has only worsened with time. When dogs pass the Tatalovichs front windows, Bozley goes nuts. He wont let anyone enter the house without trying to scare them away first. He charges, bites, jumps, and humps Sean and Nidias guests and now shows similar behavior on walks. Cesar is beckoned to help Bozley learn some lessons in hospitality. Seg 53 Ginger and the Type As Two years ago, Regina and Steve Risseeuw decided they wanted a dog. Like typical Type A personalities, they focused on their goal, researched the various breeds, and determined that the best breed for them would be a Vizsla. Regina and Steve wanted a dog that matched their personalities and energy, one they could run with and one that would get along with people and other dogs. They adopted Ginger, but Steve noticed tendencies that were more high strung than high energy. She would run with her tail tucked between her legs and ultimately developed a fear of cars and trucks. Soon, she refused to run and walk on busy streets. If Regina even tried to put the leash on Ginger during the day, she would lie down and tremble. Now, Steve and Regina are forced to walk under the cover of night in areas where there is no traffic. The Risseeuws are committed to Ginger and need Cesars expertise."

Two great Stallion meet.
Hi Pack!
Rocky here.
These are pictures of the parade we went to on Sunday. It's the Mexican Independence Day Parade. I may not be like my family's previous Mexican dogs but this is my new adopted second home. I love Spanish because it's sound so romantique. There were lots of horses! I love horses. My family calls me a mini horse because they say I kind of look like one. This was my second parade and Olivia's first. I was not scared of nothing and everybody loved us. We were practically the only dogs and we even got a big truck that blew a horn just in our honor! Boy, it was fun. I behaved like a great gentleman walking beside mom. My leader carried Olivia in a bag because otherwise people would have not see her and would have stepped on her! She was pretty behaved herself even though it was all knew to her. We made some human kid friends and everyone smiled in our presence. Boy, we can't wait until next year.
By the end of the day, my leader and us were to walk home because the celebration afterwards was tiring for us dogs. With the permission of my leader, I was to walk one step ahead and be her eyes and ears. I stayed focused and very calm with ears back and tail submissively. Olivia was to warn us of any bad energy on the way. My leader had to carry her food because she got hungry! I say we did pretty well. I know my way home like a map in my head. Afterwards, we were ready to eat ourselves.
Much love from Rocky and Olivia!

CESAR MILLAN DAY, EVERY FRIDAY!

Ready to Ride
"In the classic example of the influence of an owner's mental state of behavior of her dog, this otherwise perfect pup embodied her master's anxiety about riding the bus."
Dog and Robot Rabbit are Friends
"This sweet dog is terrified of bunny rabbits, so Cesar brings in the look-a-like (and smell-a-like) robot rabbit."
From Hysteria to Happiness
"Just when this 4 pack of Maltese have found peace among themselves, it's time to bring in the big dogs-Daddy and Junior are ready to play!"
Much love from Rocky and Olivia!
