Hi! My name is Sam. My mommy adopted me from Friends for Life Animal Rescue where I had been for 30 days. When my mommy and I saw each other it was love at first lick! (I licked her, I mean!)

We spent several hours together before she took me home with her, just to make sure I was a good boy. I walked her up to the bull's-eye store (mommy calls it Target) where many people I didn't know came up to pet me. I was very polite and friendly. Mommy was very happy that the big and little people didn't scare me. She gave me a big hug! She took me in this wonderful place called Petsmart and bought me lots of food, toys, treats and a Gigantic bone! I was in Heaven!

I have been with my family two years and they love me very much. I have a brother who is 7 and a sister who is 14. I take them for walks, play ball with them, find them when they hide, and lick any traces of peanut butter off their faces. 

Mommy and I are BEST friends. I follow her eveywhere! I take her on long walks down by the Monocacy River, we go out for icecream, we wrestle, we go to the dog beach in Annapolis and we play with my other friends on our street.

Mommy gives me massages and I REALLY love that! I get up on my bed and mommy rubs my neck and hips and my only front leg cause sometimes it gets sore. Then she kisses my forehead and tells me, "Mommy loves Sammy cause Sammy's a good boy." She gets in my bed and sleeps with me every night. (Mommy says it's HER bed, but really it's mine because I take up more space on it than she does and more of my hair is on it anyway!)

My mommy has a boyfriend who has a fancy-shmancy bed that I'M not allowed on when we stay at his house!  Well you better believe I'm up on that bed every chance I get when they're gone! I just wish I could figure out what MY "sleep number" is???

When I take mommy out for walks people come up to her all the time to ask about my missing leg. She responds, "I don't know what happend, but I got him on sale-he was 1/4th off!".

So other than missing a leg I am in very good health, well, okay, I am currently on a diet. My vet said I need to lose 20 pounds and told mommy to give me lots of green beans until I was thinner. (My vet could use some green beans herself! But I'm a good boy so I didn't mention that!)

So that's all you need to know about me. I left out the boring stuff like when mommy found me eating a dead deer, when I caught a big fat ground hog, when I ate a whole box of mommy's homemade fudge, how I like to lick the neighbor's cat without actually eating him, yeah, that's borrrrrrring.
