Mommy got yelled at!

Yup, it’s true and I can hardly believe it. Now let me first say that mom prides herself on being a responsible pet parent. There are lots of dogs in the neighborhood. It seems like more and more each day. Sadly, they don’t all get picked up after. Mom always carries a bag. Daddy too. In fact one day when mom went to clean up my mess she noticed she had dropped the bag along the way. Standing there with nothing to scoop my poop she began frantically searching for something and finally found a few leaves and used that. She hates when people don’t clean up after their dogs. In fact she even picks up after me when we go to the woods.

Ok, so on to what happened. We were doing our early walk and as we reached the end of the block, I just had to go. I started to crouch on someone’s grass. Mom tried to get me to move but I just couldn’t hold it. Now let me just tell you that I wasn’t really in their yard. I was right on the line of where the grass and the sidewalk meet. Mom quickly picked up my poop and the next thing we know some lady starts screaming at mom. She shows her the bag and told her she cleaned it up. The lady then says that’s not the point and she doesn’t want “him” on her grass. Mom apologized again, said she would not let it happen again. Yet the lady stilled kept yelling at mom. Saying that she sees me there all the time and that she places ”him” on her lawn. Mom most certainley does not place me anywhere, and I do not make it a habit of relieving myself there. And to top it off she kept calling me a “him”.

Now mom has the most respect for other people’s property and she can totally understand if the woman doesn’t want me on her grass. But she did clean it up, she said she was sorry and she promised not to allow me to go there again. I honestly don’t know what else she could have said or done. Yet the woman continued to scream at her. I felt bad for mom because she was trying to be polite and she kept apologizing, meanwhile she was just standing there literally holding the bag.

Aw Sami, your poor Mom!  She sure didn't deserve that!  It sounds like that icky lady should be living somewhere in the country, not in town where people walk with their dogs!  If she can't handle it, she should either move or build a fence!  Now if you were doing it intentionally that's different, but come on... what more could your mom possibly have done to appease this cranky lady?  She must have been having a real bad day and took it out on you.  Our Mom says it's hard for humans to just let it go when someone yells at you, even if you don't deserve it, but we sure hope your Mom didn't let this get to her, cuz she didn't deserve it!

Oh .Sami, give your mom a kiss for me. Thats bad that lady yelling at your mommy!!! Some people!!! Anyway you know what when we lived in Florida we lived in a condo. what ever that is. Any way we lived on the bottom so we had our own private back yard thank goodness. But anyway a neighbor of ours had a dog and she walked it out and forgot her bag to pick it up in, she went home to get one to pick up after him and someone ran out with a camara before she could get back out there and took a picture of her leaving the mess without picking it up. Then she turned the picture in the the condo. manager and they made copies of it and put it on everyones door asking if anyone knew who the dog and owner were. Well of course some one ratted and they threw her out... Isnt that terrible...Thats one nice thing about living in the county, we can go anywhere!!! Oh thats so much fun, but mommy still picks up after us.

Sami we understand you can't always pick the PERFECT place.  When ya gotta go..ya gotta go.  Bet that woman (we agree with Aunt Tina..she's not a lady) wouldn't like it if someone wouldn't let her go if she really had to.  And your mom was very responsible.  We live in the country so that's not really an issue for us.  Mom or Dad just take us to a far part of the yard...but we have a bunch of strays that do their business in our yard (sometimes right by the back porch..yuck) but mom and dad don't say anything.  We say next time when she (and mom) isn't looking pee on her flowers!!!!

You know what? People are crazy! Do they think we purposely pick the crazy lady's yard to go in? No! We gotta go when we gotta go. A similar thing happened to my mom a few years back so there are crazies everywhere. She just couldn't understand what the big deal was since mom had picked it up. AND this couple had 2 dogs of their own. HELLOOO!!!

Sami - oh my gosh!  That is so horrible!  I hope it never happens again, but it might one day because some PEE-ple are just plain whiners!

My mom is a groomer (to some of my close friends only now) and the neighborhood knows that her/my yard is a safe bathroom spot.  And if you forget a bag?  Not a problem!  We clean the yard every morning!  Well, one day our neighbor was getting irate at these beautiful lady am staff terriers for going potty in her yard.  Mom heard the noise and went outside (because she's nosy!) to see what the problem was.  She then pointed to a non-visible wet spot.

"They went here?  Right here??  Well, guess what, THAT'S MY YARD AND I ALLOW IT!"

Our neighbor hasn't spoken to us since!  But, Mom did put a cute sign up for a few weeks that said: Bathroom Breaks Allowed Here!  Hope you get a neighbor like my mom!  Bad PEE-ple are just ugly!  I think it's because they are JEALOUS that they don't have that special love from a furriend like our parents do...  Oh well.

There's nothing more your mom could have done. She did all the right things, but some people just don't know when to give it up. My guess is this woman might be frustrated with other dogs in the neighborhood and you just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and she was lookin'.

I get called a 'boy' all the time, too, Sami. My mom will usually just say something like 'her name is Astrid!' in a nice tone of voice. In this case, that mean lady wouldn't have cared if you were a he, a she or purple people eater. You were her target at that particular moment. Sorry....crap happens.

Oh nooo Sami we just read this...goodness that woman is just plain mean!!! No other word for her! Well..lets see...next time we will come over, and walk with you...with us sheps and our wannabe shep Sugar..we will see how much SHE will yell at your mom...geesh calling you a "HIM"...

no excuse for being rude and yelling...we know your mom and we know how responsible she is..dont forget we met her in person..and you too...

Mom had a real busy day yesterday and didnt get to read a whole lot on here..but she is reading this now.

Tell mom..  not to worry...too many of those kind of "mean people" around..and she should just forget and ignore her.
