Lovin the sun
We have been having some great weather here. It has been in the high seventys or low eightys. Mom bought us a small pool to play in, Max isnt all that thrilled with splashing in the water. But I love it. Maybe Mom will get a chance to take us to the river soon. That would be great! In the meantime I will be happy to sun myself on the deck and do a little splashing in the kiddie pool.
Hope everyone is having a great summer.
Happy times again
Well the last few months have been a bit trying. Kidney stones for Dad, Moms grandma passed away. Lots and lots of cloudy, rainy days. But things are looking up. Finally! The sun is out, we have been outside playing all day. I love it when my family plays outside with me. Max isnt all that playful, a couple of runs through the yard and he camps out on the deck. Lazy little thing that he is, but Mom and my human sister play and play and play with me, Dad is pretty good at playing too! But he is usually busy trying to clean up the yard. I try to help sometimes, you know picking up limbs and such. Anyway things are looking much better now.
So Happy Fathers day everyone.
I think summer has finally reached our house.

Poor Dad
Last week was really long. Dad had something called kidney stones. Poor guy seemed to be in alot of pain. So Mom had to take him to the hospital. Then they had to do surgery to get the stone. Not fun. So we didnt get much play time last week. Mom was busy taking care of Dad. But the good new is that Dad is feeling much better so We had a great Sunday. We got to go for a long walk and Mom spent lots of time with us, then we came home and shared some of the love with Dad. We really do love our humans!
Really long week.
It has been crazy around here this week. Dad has been having some problems with something called kidney stones. What ever that is it doesnt sound good. Soooooooo, Mom and Dad had to spend alot of time at the Doctors office and at the Hospital the last few days. That means Max and I have had to entertain ourselves. We havent gotten in to a lot of trouble, but we did kind of tear a little wall paper off the wall in the utility room and we ate alittle of the sheet rock. We thought it tasted pretty good, Mom wasnt to happy with us though. She was afraid we would get sick and so we got a long lecture about eating strange things. Of course we looked at her like we understood. But we dont get it. If it tastes good, eat it. That is our motto. Dad is feeling a little better now, so hopefully we will have a great week end, hope you all do too!
What was that?
So last night I was outside sniffing around and I found something new. Dad said it was a frog. A what? I have never seen anything like it. It was so small, but it made a big noise. So I barked and barked at it, but it just stayed right where it was and continued to make that loud noise. I growled a little bit and barked some more, but it didn’t care it just stared at me and kept making that noise. Finally Dad picked it up and put it in the yard where it would be safe. I think it was so intimidated by me that it was afraid to move. Yep, thats what I think. I think that loud noise it was making was a cry for help. I bet that old frog was glad Dad came to its rescue. I may have to go outside on a frog hunt later, maybe I will wait for Dad, just incase that frog has a brother.
Painting
Mom and Dad have been very busy doing something they call painting. It is kind of weird. The pushed the furniture into the middle of the room and covered it with something they call plastic. Then they got some really smelly stuff and started smearing it all over the walls. Its wet and smells bad. Mom said to stay away from the walls or else we would be in trouble. So I kind of nudged Max alittle and his bottom hit the wall, well Mom wasnt very happy cause it smudged the paint and now Max has a white bum. So I got sent outside to play. I think it was worth it. Max looks funny and I am going out, I might even dig a new hole in the yard.
Wow, it is really wet outside.
Well it is raining really hard right now. Actually I love the rain, but Mom isnt to excited about it. Max doesnt really like it much either. The weather man said its supposed to rain all weekend. Soooo, I’m thinking maybe this should be a movie weekend. Hmmm, maybe a dog movie or two then a pirate movie. Since I like the water so much it might be fun to pretend to be a pirate. Yep that sounds like fun. Well, hope you all have a good weekend and if you think about us, you might send some sunny thoughts our way.
loud noises
Well my Mom and Dad have decided to do alittle remodeling at our house. Hmmm, I’m not sure they know what alittle means. It seems like our whole house is torn up. The kitchen is half way ripped out and the floors are missing some of the carpet. It’s been really crazy around here. Strange people coming in with weird loud things. We dont like the noisey things they call tools. They are way too loud and scare Max and me. We have been sticking pretty close to Mom this last week. She says everytime she turns around she is tripping over one of us, but what does she expect. We arent use to seeing all these strange people or hearing all this loud noise. We will be so happy when this is all over. I think we need a nice quiet place to relax while all of this crazyness is going on, maybe Mom will take us to the beach for a day or two. That would be good, I think I will start working on her right away. Give her those puppy looks with the sad eyes she can never say no, we really do have her wrapped around our paws. Look out seagulls here we come.
New Neighbor
Our neighbors just rescued a little springer spaniel. Her name is Ariel and she is really sweet. Her mom brought her over to meet us and we got to play outside in the yard for awhile. Max wasnt to excited to meet her. He is kind of a loner. But I liked having someone else to play with. She seems pretty smart and she liked to play ball. Mom says if it is nice out tomarrow maybe we can go for a walk around the lake. Yeah! I will be keeping my paws crossed. Long walks are my favorite!
