Hip Op
Well Cooper had his visit today and the vet was of the opinion that he is not a good candidate for a TPO as there is already too much damage on his hip.So he has now begun a routine of Glucosamine and Fish Oil Capsules and anti inflammatory shots and oral med for at least a few weeks to help him while he begins his DIET and increasing his gentle exercise.
This will all keep going until we either decide he’s in real pain and fork out for a hip replacement interstate!! ($6,000 AUD)Or we notice a real improvement and can cut back on the bits n pieces from the health shop and vet.
Either way I had better get going to do LOADS of overtime at work

Hi and sorry that we’ve taken so long to say that we want you as our friends.
We have been having a lot of worry lately with Cooper and his hip problems.Actually he isn’t really in pain or anything and as his Mum I am so confused as to what to do….operate or not.
Monday morning will be the time we decide after hearing the specialist and weighing up the pro’s and cons.

Hello everyone
my youngest lab Cooper has been diagnosed with HD and we are waiting at the moment to get up the money for a TPO.Has anyone’s dog experienced this procedure and can you please tell us what to expect?
I keep reading that we should wait but I don’t want Cooper to be in pain and if we DO wait,the pain control may be out of our hands.
Having total hip replacements down the track would be a finacial nightmare so this seems to be our only choice.
ANY feedback will be EXTREMELY appreciated.

Hello everyone it’s me the ‘hooman’ this time.
There still aren’t too many of us Aussies on here yet but those who are,I was wondering if you can submit your ideal dog foods for everyone to see.
I feed our guys the following…
2/3 of their bowl of moistened Supercoat for the Labs with the other 1/3 being a mix of brown rice,wholemeal pasta and steamed vegies.
Old Mo has tinned food coz he gets constipated on ‘real’ food!!(tells ya something doesn’t it).
They are thriving now but I just want your ideas on whether it’s a good long term thing.

Me again(Cooper)
Yesterday was the best day in the whole world coz I finally got to go to the dog park to meet Ashas friends.There were all kinds of us there,but they all loved me the most coz I was the baby.I even met a Cooper who looked just like me only a little bit bigger.I wasn’t scared at all even of the great big Rottweiler or the Ridgeback coz they are all friendly,but a bit loud and rough sometimes.The hoomans thought I was so cute coz I worked out who had treats in their pockets and stayed real close to them just in case they wanted to share with me.My mum bought me and Asha new collars yesterday but Asha managed to get mine off of me and then we both chewed it up so I don’t have one now and Mum says I can go without until we leave the yard!!!So I have been trying to chew Ashas off of her too coz it’s not fair…......seeya.

I’m Cooper!!!!Hey it’s my turn to say hello to everyone.
Phew it’s a bit tough getting my turn at anything unless it is EATING.I am WAY quicker than Asha and Mo so my Mum has to feed me inside the house or I end up eating half of Ashas food too.YUM.I would do just about anything for food,even SIT and give Mum my paw(whats THAT all about?).
I’ve got a few bumps from Asha but I can roll really good now when she knocks me around and soon I’ll be too big for her to move so she won’t have as much fun doing it.She loves me though and has taught me how to jump up on the chairs and sit like a ‘hooman’.Old Mo hasn’t got a hope in heck of getting up to me then.Oh he’s OK but boy does he get cranky if I try to share HIS food!!

Well I’ve had the mini me living here for two weeks now and I haven’t broken him yet.
I have so much fun with him but sometimes I’m a bit rough and my Mum yells at me to stop.I think it’s cool to run at full speed and bowl him over when he’s not looking but Mum doesn’t!!
He sometimes manages to bite my cheeks and that makes me stop coz it hurts but I don’t care coz I’ll just do it again.I love the little fella tho.
A BRAND NEW TOY
I’ve got a brand new toy and his name is Cooper.
Um…...Mum says he is NOT a toy but I know better.He sure squashes like one and even squeaks some times if I nip him too hard.
He looks a lot like me coz he has the same Dad as me(4 legged Dad).
We picked him up this morning and I am showing him who’s boss (until he eats outta my bowl then I let him coz he’s only little.)I even let him play in my little swimming pool coz he loves water like I do.
I’ll get Mum to put a photo of him on here real soon so you can see him too.

OUCH
Now I know why my mum tried to clean my ears all the time!! It didn’t get done properly a few weeks ago and I’ve had a real bad earache.
I had to have a needle…. ooooooohhhhh,and some tablets AND eardrops for about 2 weeks to make it better.So if you are like me with floppy ears you better get your Mum or Dad to clean your ears and maybe use some stuff from the Vet to keep em clean or OUCH and YUK you will end up like me.I am all better now and I have been a good girl when I get my drops but I don’t want it to happen again.Plus my Mum says that I will have to pay for it all myself!!

Hi it’s me again.
Are any of you from Australia or do you all live in America.We have never been to America but one day when Mum wins that lotto thing I think she will go and see how you guys live.
We sometimes watch shows on TV about dog rescue places but never get to see how normal every day dogs live
