i thought this was a site to be with people who love and care about their dogs.. to me chaining your dog outside and call it a family member? would you chain your human children or your grandma outside ? people are jumping all over 7 dogs for speaking up for the puppies and i don't see what is wrong with that.. i am behind 7 dogs one hundred percent
Delilah
just wanted to pass along so very sad news...my Delilah has gone to the rainbow bridge...she had bone cancer and the pain got to be to much...so we let her go....with very sad and heavy hearts...we will all miss her very much...she was my first rescue dane....

I agree with 7dogs. i do great danes rescue, but not only great danes. i have adopted four of the many who have come through my home. there are thousands upon thousands of dogs killed every day because there are people who want puppies, or another dog like i have, or one like someone else has. well you may not get what you are looking for. puppies are great if that is what you are looking for. but they don't stay that way. and to me dogs (or for that matter, animals) are not disposable. and in the united states i am sad to say it happens all to often. when my friend (7dogs) and i would do home studies we would each take a dog(great dane) so the possible adopters would know in real life what they were getting. all of my dogs have come to me from rescue. i have had dogs come into my home as fosters from situations from' he doesn't match my furniture, he knocks down the kids, to he takes me for a walk(even though they never put any time into training.), had no idea he would get this big. to the famous we are moving but the new place will not allow dogs. and yes i get very angry at those people. dogs should be a part of the family. would you give your children away as easily? everyone i know that knows me' knows i have skin children (4boys) and fur children. and i would do what i had to do to protect both skin and fur children with my life. i do not tollerate abuse of anykind to either. when you work with a rescue or if you have done rescue for any period of time it is hard to beleive what happens in this world. we get where we have a hard time tollerating everyone wanting to breed for ???what ever crazy reason. if people are going to breed, it should be to better the breed. all of my fur kids are beautiful and very loving. and i hope they live forever but i know that isn't going to happen. i could no more replace one of my fur kids anymore than i could replace one of my skin kids. they are all unique in their own way and i know i will never find that same spirit in another fur kid. and i know there needs to be lots more education but please try to understand why we feel this way. we see and hear and deal with all the crap of people who just want to have puppies, for?????
