My bubba, Buster keeps having seizures. I know he's old and all, but we're really worried about him. One night he had seizures for 12hrs before they finally stopped. Now he has that Valium stuff, but we can't tell if it's really working well or not.
Keep him in your prayers, he's not well at all
Also, if anyone has any experience with this, let us know!
we're praying for you.. I know how scary it was when Snowden first had them. In the forums there is some really good advice and web pages to refer to for some advice, you should visit them. If you want to help your Buster recover quicker from the seizure, try a table spoon of Hagna Daas vanilla ice cream. This will level his blood sugar and refresh him a bit from his ordeal. Good luck.

Thanks for the help. The vet agrees with me that he's too old to go through much testing. We both feel it's a brain tumor (or something of the sort). We're trying to figure out the dose on the valium, because it's trial and error. Sometimes I can't tell if he's having problems because of the seizures of the effects or the meds. It really wipes him out.

Boxers are known in the dog world as "cancer factories" as they are #1 on the cancer list. If Buster has never had seizures before, he may have a brain tumor. What does the vet say?
You know valium is working if it stops the seizure. Maintenence drugs for seizures are usually Phenobarbitol or Potassium Bromide.
Have your vet run some blood work and make sure you always have valium on hand. There is more infor on seizures in the forum under health and diet
