Hi everyone!  Just a reminder to set aside some time next Tuesday to get to your nearest voting booth and VOTE!  I would if I could...wouldn't that be cool if dogs could 'run' for the presidency?  I love running.  I would run if I could...or at the very least, I would VOTE!  Don't let this happen to you!

 

My male owner is voting for Obama but still thinks it would be cool to form a party for young single people. What do you think? (PG-13 rating)

Smart video here about being responsible when it comes to the environment.  If you feel strongly about this kind of thing, I think you'll truly enjoy it.  (I definitely feel strongly about it...I'm a dachshund.  You can't get much closer to the Earth than me!)

 

Pet Shop Boy

My male human got a job at an upscale pet store/dog boutique on the Upper East Side of Manhattan last weekend and I'm PSYCHED about it! He says the guys that run the place are great and that they have a bunch of cool toys, beds and treats that he can get at cost (since he works there now) and I can't wait to see the cool stuff I end up with!  It's sad that I won't be seeing as much of him as before but in the grand scheme of things, it's only 12 hours a week so it's not that big of a deal, especially if it makes him happy. He really loves dogs so its a great place for him to make a little extra money!

 

It's weird having him coming home smelling like other dogs though, I'd have to say.  According to my keen sense of smell, I believe he works with some french bulldogs, maltese, mikis, schnausers, yorkies, havadoodles, yorkiedoodles...and I'm pretty sure a cat and parrot.  Yeah, definitely a parrot as I've heard him tell stories of how the bird is by the phone all day so every now and then you hear the bird go "Hello"  "Hello?"  "Hello!"  He says its really funny to hear the bird talk, meow like the cat, and laugh like a human.  The first time he heard it, he thought it was a real person!  Silly.   I wish I could mimmick what I hear, I could put on my own little show of impressions.  Something to consider perhaps...

 

This Saturday I'll get a chance to swing by the pet store and check out the place.  If I do, I'll definitely do my best to point out which toys, clothes, beds and treats I want.  No harm in asking...especially at cost, right?

 

That's what I thought too.  

 

Looking forward to hitting the luau party scene this weekend for Labor Day!!  Hamburgers and hot dogs and chicken kabobs!! DELICIOUS!  Nothing makes a long car ride worth it like sharing a delicious chicken kabob with the humans!  Hope you all have a great Labor Day too!!

Just got an email from Robert...good looking dog by the way...that I won the caption contest!  How exciting!  25 doggie dollars for making fun of Britney Spears.  Who knew it could pay a dog so well! : )

I am in a new book!

My BFF Birdie and I are now featured in a new book put out by HarperCollins called “Dogfessions”!  We’ve sold the rights to our deepest secrets for your reading pleasure and you can find it in the Humor section at your local bookstore (well, definitely at Barnes and Noble and Borders anyway...I hear they're there). Considering that the male human owner that lives with us is a comedian and has yet to be included in a book in the humor section…let's just say he’s taking it very well and is VERY proud of us!  I think its really neat and I’m excited to be ‘published’! : )  If any of you have read it or seen it, let me know what you think! 

Toy Update

Well, the big news here in my world is I've destroyed another toy.  I don't know when the humans here are going to learn.  If it's not made of steel, I'm probably going to destroy it.  

 

I can't help it...it's not like I don't appreciate the toys...I just enjoy breaking them SO MUCH!    That sound of the squeaker inside makes me want to see the actual squeaker so badly I just have to rip the whole toy open, shred the cotton leaving it everywhere and then wag my tail in delight after defeating my inanimate opponent.  

 

A lot of owners might stop buying me toys at this point but mine know I love my toys so much.  True, I end up destroying them, but at least it's not their furniture (usually anyway).  

 

I've been in my home here for just over a year and I really like it here.  I play with my canine roommate, Birdie during the day (sometimes they guy human is here with us too, that's lots of fun!) and then head to the dog park and for good long walks each and every day.  The neighborhood is full of great smells and wonderful dogs to meet on every walk.  Central Park is such a cool place to explore and with Summer here, I'm looking forward to doing it A LOT!  Maybe next time I'LL get to eat the cotton candy and ride the carousel.  I'll keep you posted...until then, I'll settle for rolling around on the Great Lawn and checking out the sights!

A quick blog before bed

Just wanted to say hi real quick before turning in for the evening. I look forward to hearing more about your daily activities and sharing my unique experiences here in NYC with you. I'll try to get more pics and videos and stuff on-line real soon. The best part of bedtime is I get to sleep in the human bed. It's pretty awesome. I think they tend to rearrange the way they lay just so I can fit. I was sleeping in the crate I came in when they got me for a couple months but I put up enough of a stink (not that kind of stink) and now I'm in the big time. There's nothing better, right dogs who too enjoy the comforts of the human bed? The pillows, the sheets, the blankets...OH THE BLANKETS. So warm. It's awesome. I really don't even know why I get up so early I mean it is COM-FY! Something to think about...if my blogs don't make you dogs think, at least perhaps they'll make me think...and maybe even eventually figure out how to make nachos. I think the humans I live with (the guy especially) would REALLY enjoy that. Alright. A little bit more Comedy Central and I'm calling it a night. I've got a couple warm bodies to go crawl between and make adjust their positions. Good times...and good night...you dog you.
