Hi! My name is Champ and I am  6 years old now and live out in the country up in the mountains in Virginia.

I was born in North Carolina and my folks got me as a pup when I was 6 weeks old.   I know... that is way too young.. Mom  was shocked the breeder got rid of us pups as soon as she could.

I am a mahogany shade of fawn with a black mask and some

white markings.  I am a handsome boy!

I lost my fursister, Rosie last year in October to cancer.  I miss her so much.  Frown It is hard to think of her and not feel so sad.  Mom and Dad rescued her from a kill shelter.  She was my best girl!

I love to play with my toys...I am such a kid at heart. Oh! I can blow bubbles, too!   I wiggle and dance and kidney bean my body in both directions...lol!

I have 3 acres to run in but prefer indoors on the couch or a  bed...lol! I have an old 16 yr old cat to harrass indoors, Spanky, and one outdoor 9 yr old kitty, Mika.

I am a great guard dog!  I am very protective over my dad and my mom.

I eat  human grade dog food and get table scraps that are good for me....well, not always!  The folks just put me on the Senior diet for overweight dogs.... I am a bit pudgy.  Lack of exercise! I did mention I prefers indoors.  lol!

I am a loving companion, says my mom and dad!  They love me and call me their little Champie Doodle! Kiss

I have enjoyed meeting so many wonderful new fur friends! Mom tells me whenever I get a new friend, a comment or gift! I get so excited!  This is so much fun!

Rosie is no longer with us, but we loved that little girl so much..I just wanted to tell her story.

After we got our Champie,  I got very involved in Boxer Rescue online and locally.

I decided to find a rescue Boxer so Champ could have a companion.  I found Rosie in a  shelter in another city in Virginia.  It was out in the country with no means of medical and it was a kill shelter.

A volunteer wisely put the shelter in Petfinders.com.  That site is just awesome..but that is where I found her.  I pleaded for some of the Boxer rescues to go and get her as she was due to be put down.

If you looked at her... she had a problem with her eye.. a neighbor, supposedly, shot her with a bb gun and the owner just dumped her in the kill shelter with no medical attention.  She wasn't what you call show quality... so the Virginia rescue didn't seem interested.

Long story short.. but my husband and I arranged for the shelter to let us come and get her on a Sunday when they were closed.

My husband took one look at the poor thing and said let's take her home.  She was laying on a concrete floor, and wouldn't raise her head when we walked in.  The volunteer had told me earlier she was depressed.

We got her to an emergency pet clinic that very day where we found out she had pneumonia, ticks all over her, fleas, her eye was gone and she had a fever.

The following day she was in a regular clinic and after a few days on antibiotics, her eye socket was cleaned and sewn shut and she was spayed.

She lived as a princess with us as we promised her anything she wanted she would get for the rest of her life.  She was the sweetest and most loving dog.  How the owner could treat such a lovely dog that way, I have no idea.  She was an angel.

We would take the dogs to a park where there was a field that was acres and acres to run.  We took the dogs off their leash and she flew like the wind.  She loved to run!  Champ had new respect for this new fursister... he realized she was fun!  He was still a pup at the time.

Life was grand!

Last year............

She had a tumor on her side January 2007 and if you look at her pic, you will see her scar... the one with Champ.  We moved  the end of October 2007 and we thought she was fine...but two days after moving to our new home, she got sick one night and passed over to Rainbow Bridge.

We still miss her so much.  We have a large angel in our yard and she is buried at the foot of it.

We haven't gotten any more companions for Champ as he seems to be very protective of us, and not wanting to share.

We just miss her.  She was so sweet.
